Even though this shampoo is biodegradable, free of sulfates, parabens, petroleum, phthalates, PEGs, EDTA, silicon, phenoxyethanol, never tested on animals, and contains some safe ingredients, such as organic aloe vera leaf juice, shea butter, evening primrose, jojoba and rosemary oils, it contains non-organic sodium cocoyl hydrolyzed soy protein, soybean oil, xanthan gum, citric acid, ascorbic acid, glycerin, tocopheryl acetate, tocopherol, beta-carotene, glucose, decyl glucoside, milk protein, lactoperoxidase, as well as alcohol denat. Non-organic sodium cocoyl hydrolyzed soy protein and soybean oil are extremely likely to be genetically modified. Over 90% of soy products in the USA, as well as elsewhere in the world, are genetically modified to survive being doused with otherwise lethal amounts of herbicides and pesticides. GMOs are dangerous endocrine disruptors, developmental, reproductive and neurotoxicants, and carcinogens. Tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E acetate), tocopherol, beta-carotene (provitamin A), citric acid, ascorbic acid (vitamin C), xanthan gum and glycerin are most likely to be genetically modified, as well. This balancing shampoo is definitely not a product I would consider using.
