Must use standard incandescent bulb - WORKS GREAT!

I choose this ring over glass and porcelain because the brass ring does not break if the lamp is bumped and it falls to the floor. Rinses easily. No need to buy refill pads. Worth the money! It must be used on an incandescent (regular light bulb). Using a LED or CFL bulb will not generate enough heat for the oil. If you have a nightstand light it will work with that - like a 40 watt bulb. But I wouldn't go lower than 40watts. I use it on a 60 watt bulb. Just be careful not to burn yourself. Turn the light on last. haha.
