First, Bragg's has about the same amount of sodium as regular soy sauce: my bottle says "160 mg per half a teaspoon" which means 900 mg per tablespoon...and soy sauce is about 1000 mg per teaspoon Second, while no "salt" is added, the sodium MUST come from someplace other than the soybeans [over 10 kilograms of soybeans would be needed to produce the sodium!!]...I have to guess that they hydolyze the soybeans with acid and then neutralize it with something like sodium bicarbonate...ie, baking soda. The ingredients list is, at best, incomplete. Finally, this product DOES have a nice soy/salty flavor, and works well as a soup-stock additive. So far, I have not been able to find proof that it is a really low-salt, non-chemically produced soybean-only product...maybe someone else has more info!

Some people are having problems with their mathematics. Half teaspoon of BRAGGS has 160mg of sodium; one tablespoon of BRAGGS = 3 teaspoon = 6x 160mg = 960mg of sodium (NOT 320mg, NOT some magic low-sodium number!). That compares to soy sauce @ about 1000mg per tablespoon. Please, people, like BRAGGS for the right reasons, not all the wrong ones! Like that it is non-GMO; like that it is free of preservatives; like that it is alcohol-free if that pleases you. I do like the taste, and it is a nice change from the various soy sauces I use when I feel like it, but many people are mistaken in thinking it is a healthy low-salt alternative! The sodium level is only marginally lower than soy sauce, and there are also soy sauces that are free of preservatives and additives, and organic as well. Soy sauce fermented the traditional way undergo a process that takes 18 months to 2 or 3 years, and has many health benefits from the presence of oligosaccharides, peptides, polysaccharides, and is high in antioxidants. Many of the soy sauce you find in the stores are made from acid-hydrolyzed soy protein and takes 2 to 3 days. So, when you say Bragg is a healthy alternative, my question is .... compared to what? Run a search on BRAGGS, and you will see many articles maintaining that they used acid-hydrolyzed process, that BRAGGS liquid aminos contain lots of MSG and also contains aspartic acid, another brain damaging excitotoxin.

Okay, we all love Chinese food. And it used to be you couldn't get away from Soy Sauce - that delicious salt laden seasoning that, well let's be honest... isn't that great for us. But wait! Now there's Bragg All Natural Liquid Aminos. A taste better than soy sauce, with enormous health benefits! As always, priced just right at iherb.com!

Bragg Liguid Aminos is wonderful! I hope they make this in a lower sodium version one day for those of us who had to watch their sodium intake. Highly recommend this instead of plain ol' soy sauce. :)
