I didn't know what's Genmaicha tea before I purchased this one. It's a selected Japanese green tea with roasted brown rice. Some people call Genmaicha "popcorn tea" because it contains whole roasted grains of brown rice, some of which have popped. Its' mild flavor combines the fresh grassy flavor of green tea with the aroma of the sweet roasted rice. Tea steeped from these tea leaves has a light yellow hue. It has a lot of antioxidants and reduces cancer risk. Besides, it helps to lose weight as it increases fat oxidation. This type of tea was originally drunk by poor Japanese, as the rice served as a filler and reduced the price of the tea; which is why it is also known as the "people's tea." Today it is consumed by all segments of society and enjoyed by tea lovers all over the world.

i was so happy when i saw that you are carryiny my favorite of all teas. i used to buy lots from Harney every month. i hope you will carry Tokyo as that is another fav of mine. yes, i drink tea and more tea and coffee. thank you for carrying Harney and Sons tea...oh yes, i only buy the loose leaf teas.
