    Steel Cut Oats

    Posted by Reviewer2199469 on Apr 02, 2008

If you've never tried Steel Cut Oats, do yourself a favor. Steel Cut means they are the full unflattened oat that has been cut into about 3 pieces by steel blades. The texture is great, especially if you like a plumper and chewier oatmeal. This brand is very good at the price, but I'm sure there are many good brands available.

    Steel Cut Oats, 2 lbs

cut a little coarser than I prefer, but otherwise fine. The shipping cost is somewhat high and may be a deterrent to future orders.

    Steel cut oats

    Posted by Reviewer3290561 on Nov 16, 2009

I ordered the oats because they are supposed to be healthy, but I had never tasted them. The oats are pebbly and chewy, and have a nice flavor. I use a microwave to avoid using a pot. I do 30 seconds at full power, then 15 minutes at 30%. Obviously I am not trying to speed up the cooking process. I love the packaging. The zip close works well and the small packets are easy to store.
