Along with the new packaging, Promax has changed the recipe quite a bit from the previous incarnation. The bars are now a lot softer and the chocolate coating is more likely to melt in the hot weather here, but I'm inclined to think that Promax has probably had to sacrifice the "body" of the bars for better taste and nutrition. These bars taste really good now. A friend really hated the previous recipe, saying that the taste of protein was very strong. But he's definitely come round to the newer, better-tasting recipe! I'm going to try the other flavours now, to see if they've improved in taste too.
