Hard to say for sure, but really seems to help me when I'm sick. Also seemed to make my cough better. There is a liquid form that is really good, probably easier for kids, and seems to slightly coat the throat which is soothing if sore.

The tablets smell not very sweetly, what we were used to in britain were elderrberry tablets in capsules not extract of elderberry, but it seems to do the trick, colds and swine flu staying away at moment
