Hercampuri is a powerful liver tonic so powerful it's actually dangerous, meaning it can cause catastrophic side effects. The homily that "herbal remedies don't have side effects" is itself very dangerous; powerful medicines have side effects, period. Prolonged heavy use of Hercampuri can cause wasting of connective tissue (e.g. gums) and fibrocartilage, meaning knee meniscus, intervertebral discs, and TMJ meniscus. These tissues all have lots of collagen of a particular type, which Hercampuri seems to attack somehow, possibly by stimulating production of relaxin. if you take lots of Hercampuri it can precipitate knee arthritis and/or serious back problems, from which you may recover, or ... maybe you won't. Instead, think about Hercampuri like this: it's a drastic purgative for your liver. Causes dramatic bile discharge and "makes things happen" every time, but... Would you use a drastic purgative (the regular kind) every day as if that's good for you? Not if you're savvy you wouldn't. Pretty soon you'll HAVE TO use one every day, in ever-increasing amounts, or your intestinal contents will set up like concrete--not healthy. That's what Hercampuri is like too. So just use it occasionally to give your liver a hard scouring, but for daily liver support there are better choices, like milk thistle combined with choline and inositol.
