I didn't like the taste

Posted by 5710333086768038048 on Jan 18, 2016

The lid cover can not tightly close. And It taste dry and nothing like the ordinary pancake syrup, beside the fact " organic " I don't recomended for my friends and family.

Expected it to be a litre, only 430ml. Could've bought cheaper, very disappointed.

It is not as tasty as other, more expensive brands.

It's caramel syrup with a hint of maple

Posted by Reviewer1801090 on Jan 22, 2015

I am dissapointed because it tastes like the caramel done with sugar and water and just a slighty flavour of maple. I expected more deep rich flavour as advertised. I will try the standard version.

Maple Syrup Additives

Posted by Reviewer2469206 on Jul 13, 2012

"Butter to line the casks they collect the syrup in" - "Butter and (in some cases) peanut oil can be used to keep maple syrup from frothing up and boiling over" - "Defoamers - Many different products are used to reduce the foaming of the boiling sap during evaporation. Commercially available vegetable fat derivatives, either liquid or powdered, butter, milk, or vegetable oil is often used. Only a small amount is needed to control foaming and using too much will create an off-flavor in the syrup." (http://maple.dnr.cornell.edu/pubs/MapleFlavor&SyrupGrading.pdf)
