I have been using various brands if L-Theanine for approximately one year. My job can be highly pressurized and since taking L-Theanine, I can tell the difference after 2 days if I run out - so I will never run out again. I find the Now Foods brand very efficient and fast acting. Stressful days can mean stressful nights for me compounded with a delicate sleep cycle, this brand has helped me get the rest I need. Now also take 1 cap in the evening after work when needed so that I can destress naturally without using alcohol. I find that if I take 1 capsule at about 6:30pm; then use 1 capsule of L-Tryptophan 30 minutes before I get in to bed, I sleep well, deeply and uninterrupted. I feel rested when I wake up with no grogginess, loss of short term memory, sleep eating of any of the other side effects of pharmaceutical sleep aids.

I take it as a milder alternative to Valium. It works well if you take two a day, but I have found it upsets the gastrointestinal tract a bit, however this seems to be true of most amino acids.

One capsule of this each day keeps me feeling happily myself after years of depression treated by anti-depressants that gradually made me more and more depressed. I can now count on a positive, level emotional baseline and this has been true for all of the three years I have depended on this product. Thank you
