As a heart patient a need to reduce cholesterol

I am allergic to statin drugs and as a heart patient must have support to reduce my cholesterol. My doctor has suggested Red Yeast Rice (1800 mg daily) along with a diet to minimize fat and eliminate as much as possible any foods that might contain cholesterol. I presently take one 1200mg tablet and one 600mg Vcap daily. The 1200 mg tablet is harsh going down – the shape and size make it difficult to swallow.

I was trying to find natural replacement to Lipitor to reduce liver toxicity. I had tried Hyperchol, quite effective but expensive since blister packed. I thought would try Now Foods, since seems good brand. Not so effective, had to take twice as much, and it raised my enzymes. Tried another brand, Pilgrams Pride, Not effective at ALL. Now I am back to Lipitor and using Eclectic Institute Milk Thistle 4 capsules, twice per day. Liver Enzymes normal.
