Healthiest Bean According To Studies

Posted by healthysupplements on Apr 23, 2013

I love pinto beans, but recently found out that black beans are the healthiest bean there is according to studies done regarding things like highest level of antioxidants in any bean, great source of fiber and more vitamins compared to other beans. I found this out on nutritionfacts.org. In case you are curious, pinto beans came in 2nd for healthiest beans...both are considered to be good helpers in reducing bad cholesterol. Beans, if prepared and cooked properly, can be a very nutritious and satisfying "staple" food to a healthy diet. Bean Cooking Preparation Tip: soak beans in pure non tap water over night with a tablespoon or two of fresh squeezed lemon juice and drain before cooking for best results and maximum benefits from beans. This causes the enzyme "inhibitors" from getting in the way of good nutrient absorption. It also activates the good nutrient assisting enzymes for better digestion. For even better benefits from beans, soak them in pure plain water until they begin to sprout. You can then eat them as is or cook them as well. I like to use a pressure cooker to save time.

beans, beans

So happy I ordered these, can't find them in my area of Korea! They were great. The soaking and cooking went well, which means they weren't old or bad. That has happened to me before; bought a cheap bag in the grocery store only to discover they won't cook well. Great purchase! Reordering when the time comes.

very tasty ! It is well cooked in less than an hour. I did not soak it overnight. I also make black beans soy milk prior to that I soak the beans overnight. No matter how you cook, it is healthy and delicious !!! I have ordered this for many years. Should write this review earlier.

no stones, no dud beans. these are legit. sometimes they cook up a bit dry. maybe that's my cooking, or maybe its the flimsy bag.

the beans split when cooked

I'm not sure if it's the norm but almost all the beans have their skin broken and it makes for more of a mushy black bean rather than having them whole
