Pectin, is a soluble dietary fiber naturally present in citrus fruit that cannot be absorbed by the human digestive tract. However pectin can be modified to shorten the molecular chain. This process creates smaller polysaccharide fragments that are easily absorbed and utilized in the body. Source Naturals Modified Citrus Pectin is made up of very short chains of molecules of the same molecular weight used in recent scientific studies. The constituents of Modified Citrus Pectin that are believed to be responsible for its beneficial properties are the galactosyl fractions. Their toxin-binding properties in the blood stream may help promote good health.

Several animal studies found that MCP (Modified Citrus Pectin) helped reduce the spread of prostate, breast, and skin cancer. Animals with these types of cancer that were fed MCP had a much lower risk of the tumor spreading to the lungs. For example, one study examined the effects of MCP on lung metastases from melanoma cells. Researchers injected mice with melanoma cells. In the mice that were also given MCP, significantly fewer tumors spread to the lungs than in the mice that did not receive the drug. When lung tumors did develop in the mice treated with MCP, the tumors tended to be smaller than those that formed in untreated animals. My husband has prostrate cancer and has radioactive seeds implanted, he is taking this in hopes the cancer will not return.
Does what citrus pectin should - good for controlling colon bacteria and biofilm issues.
