Fujian Province, China Famous Lapsang Souchong (Pine Smoked Black) originates from Mount Wuyi (on the northern border of Fujian province with Jiangxi province, China). In 1999, Mount Wuyi entered Unesco's list of World Heritage Sites, both natural and cultural. It is a well known biodiversity conservation zone of Southeast China. In making Lapsang souchong, the leaves are withered, pan-fired, rolled and oxidized before being fully dried in bamboo baskets over burning pine. The result is a very smoky, but smooth, enjoyable flavor. Compliments well with sweet and spicy foods.
The Tao of Tea
Like the Tao, the art of tea is universal. We began our work with tea in 1997 to be a connecting thread for tea culture. Practicing the art on a daily basis in our teahouses in Portland, Oregon, we are a group of tea enthusiast from different backgrounds and cultures. We travel, learn, take delight and seek to offer pure leaf teas with great flavor, artistry and soul. Our reward comes through actions that help people's lives, sustain the art of tea and promise a healthy environment.
We recommend using spring water, at well below boiling temperature (170 F). Brew one level teaspoon of leaf in a 12 ounce teapot. Steep for three and a half minutes.
100% organic black tea leaves.
I bought two tins, kept one at home and brought one to work. Both are being consumed at an alarming rate! :)

Very strong, robust tea. The smoky flavor is powerful, so don't be shocked. This is my go to tea during colder seasons. Sugar and milk go well with it.

This tea is sooo good- nicer than the T2 variety and it is organic-. I make it go further by mixing with plain black organic tea- delicious!!

This tea is really nice. The smoke smell is way stronger than the flavor so don't be alarmed when you take a whiff. This tea might not be for everyone, but I think it is a nice tea. I made a cup for my boyfriend and he also really enjoyed it. Tastes great with a bit of honey. I'd be interested to try it with milk.

Strong, pungent, smoky. Terrific tea for afternoon and evening. Flavour gets stronger with each pot on one spoon. This is a fantastic quality tea, packaging maintains freshness, would buy again from this site no questions. M HUNT Malaysia.
