Ginkgo biloba is the oldest living tree species and the oldest traditional medicine system, Chinese medicine, has utilized Ginkgo preparations for over 5,000 years. Modern Ginkgo extracts are standardized to contain 24-percent flavone glycosides and 6-percent terpene lactones - the naturally occurring constituents of Ginkgo that appear to be its active ingredients. Research indicates Ginkgo has neuroprotective and memory-enhancing effects, in addition to antioxidant and cardioprotective activity. Numerous clinical studies have demonstrated that Ginkgo supplementation can support cognitive health and promote memory and cognitive function in healthy individuals as well as individuals with cognitive decline.

GB24 contains the extract (standardized to 24-percent Ginkgo heterosides) used in many of the clinical studies.
