I love good food and truly healthy supplements and beauty products. I scrutinize every ingredient before I purchase something to make sure that there are no genetically engineered ingredients, harmful chemicals, or plain unhealthy ingredients. I've spent hours and hours researching what is beneficial and finding what is also delicious. I'm hoping that you and others may benefit from my work. Here's to healthy and delicious living! Note that I am also gluten free, pesce-vegetarian and chemically sensitive so my product choices screen for those considerations. I do buy wheat products for other people from time to time. I also pay attention to what is safe and unsafe for pregnancy.

For some reason, Now Foods doesn't emphasize that this product is organic. I had to look closely at the photo of the label before ordering to verify that it was. This is one of the best prices I've seen for organic maple syrup. I love Grade B because it is thicker than Grade A. Great taste and consistency. I would order again.
Easy to swallow with their veggie caps, great extra minerals and vitamins to increase calcium absorption. Decent ratio of Ca to Mg. (New Chapter's version is slow in Mg.) Most importantly, great source and form of calcium that will not cause the harm the less absorptive forms can in contributing to heart trouble, kidney stones and the such. Choosing your calcium supplements very carefully is very important to your long-term health. This and New chapter are the two brands of Ca I trust. Many will do more harm than good. Stay away from Calcium Carbonate.
Non-nano and no hazardous chemicals. One of the lighter mineral block sunscreens out there. Leaves a bit of white residue, but can be largely worked into skin. A little white on the outside is my preference to dangerous nano-particles of titanium dioxide migrating into my internal organs. I like the scent. It is refreshing and a bit tropical smelling--probably from the coconut oil. The eucalyptus oil tingles a bit and I think also helps keep bugs away without smelling like insect repellent. The consistency is smooth and well blended with no separation. Still should shake first. The expiration date is about 2-1/2 years from the date of purchase. I spent hours researching sunscreens before choosing this one. Many "natural" ones are double the price for half the amount and may still contain an undesirable ingredient or two. Yes, I am willing to pay for safety, health and effectiveness, but there is a limit! This sunscreen works well. Recently, I was out in the heat of the day on an open strawberry field for a few hours without shade. I had accidentally missed a section of my right arm with sunscreen application. That part burned and everywhere where I had successfully applied this sunscreen was not sunburned at all. I was sweating and rubbing against brush and it still worked. My only reservations are that the lecithin, glycerine, xanthan gum and Vitamin E ingredients potentially could be derived from GMO sources. However, I think I recall reading a non-GMO claim on Dr. Mercola's website for his sunscreens.
This is probably my favorite gluten-free pasta. It is more pricey than most others. I am considering buying mainly this brand regardless of the monetary price as the complete protein of the quinoa makes this a less carb addictive pasta for me. I find it much more satisfying and easier to stick to a smaller portion than with 100% rice pastas. The 6 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber per 2 ounce serving help the carbs absorb more slowly decreasing it's glycemic load. It also cooks beautifully. It stays much more firm than both the rice pastas and the buckwheat pastas.

I love that this is bottled in glass and has no BPA exposure! One ingredient: Organic strained tomatoes. This is very versatile. Soups, bloody Mary drinks, sauces--and not just pizza or marinara, but for Indian masalas as well. It is a great base and liquidy enough to drink as a thick tomato juice if desired--add a bit of salt, cayenne and lemon or water to thin it a bit. I have stopped buying jarred sauces since I've found this. Many jarred sauces--although bottled in glass--contain tomato puree or chopped tomatoes that had previously been canned in BPA-lined cans. The tomatoes in this product have not been previously canned. This is still the tomato product I use most...this and their paste...because of its purity, good taste and value. Recently, I have found two other brands of glass jarred tomato purees. One did have a better taste and thicker chunkier texture, but was significantly more pricey. Great to see BPA-free tomato sources increasing. Bionature's organic strained tomatoes are very smooth and consistent in texture. And don't miss that they are ORGANIC.
This variety of tuna is one of the lowest in mercury. Albacore and yellow fin varieties have higher mercury content than Tongal. I like the taste and texture a lot. This size can is perfect for either individual larger servings or to make a tuna salad for a couple vs a larger family. Since I keep my fish servings low, I love the smaller size. For women who are pregnant or couple trying to conceive it is recommended to not have more than a can of tuna fish every 3 weeks, according to my memory. Something close to that. People often forget to count tuna fish in their overall fish servings. There are no additives to this and the tuna is wild-caught.
By far NOT the best gluten-free pasta I've had. The buckwheat in a traditional Italian pasta shape is a nice change. The product is high in fiber and protein (but not a complete protein so still need beans or something with complete protein to complement it). Note that the serving size is 2.2 ounces versus the standard 2oz for pastas, so nutritional info is a little inflated. 46 grams of carbs is a lot. The ingredients are NOT organic. The product is Kosher certified. The second ingredient is rice flour and not brown rice...that increases its glycemic load. It is a decent pasta. I've always liked buckwheat. Hard to find 100% buckwheat soba noodles these days. The combo of buckwheat and 20% white rice flour makes it extremely important to not overcook this pasta. Both buckwheat and white rice mush very easily. Remove from boiling water maybe a minute before recommended cooking time ends and rinse in cold water.
Soy and gluten free (no wheat germ oil). Possible GMO corn in the shampoo base. This shampoo does a great job at clarifying your scalp. Be careful to not use too much, as it can also be drying. Works best in combination with Calaguala Fern Leave-in Conditioning Treatment. The smell is strong as the herbs and root extracts are medicinal, but be rest assured that your hair will smell very good when it is dry. I, personally, love how my hubby's hair smells when he uses this shampoo. Use sparingly or skip altogether if you are pregnant as the pine bark may not be safe for pregnancy. All of Aubrey Organic products are free of sodium lauryl sulfate, parabens and petrochemicals. I keep searching for something better than their products because I do not want the corn base, but have been unsuccessful in finding anything better.
Yes!!! Tomato paste in a glass jar. No worries of Bisphenol-A or other plasticizers leaching. Yay! Delicious. I use this to make homemade ketchup, homemade pasta and lasagna sauces, soups, etc. It is so convenient to have and iHerb always packs it so well that I have never experienced any breakage. There is also no salt added for those on sodium restricted diets. It has an amazingly good flavor for being purely tomato: I think it has to do with being grown in the Tuscany area of Italy. And for those worried about carbon imprints, less energy is used to ship overseas than across the continental Unites States. Ships and planes are utilized well and often cargo is added to passenger transportation that is going anyway.

So healthy and versatile. Fresh and no plastic taste. It's packaged in one of the safer types of plastic. Although, I usually prefer glass, I found this acceptable with no evidence of leaching. There will likely be oil separation when you first open it. If you stir it well and keep it refrigerated it will stay well mixed for some time. It is essential to keep this product refrigerated after opening. I've eaten it right out of the jar, mixed it with maple syrup for an emergency dessert, have added it to enchiladas. The uses are numerous. It is a very healthy addition to anyone's diet. I highly recommend it.
