Not the same as the discontinued Aloe Gelly

Posted by iHerb Customer on Sep 22, 2010 | Verified Purchase

Lily of the Desert have discontinued the 99% Aloe Vera Gelly and replaced with this "similar" product. However, this contains bamboo and different ingredients despite being, according to the label, 99% organic aloe. It has a detectable scent, and it really isn't the same as the previous formula. The old Aloe Gelly was gentle enough to use on face and very sensitive skin - this one is not.

Not as good as it says...

Nowhere near as helpful for dry hair as it claims to be. It is a fairly mild shampoo, yet it does very little to improve or condition the hair.

Good but not for the face

Posted by iHerb Customer on Jan 30, 2012 | Verified Purchase

It's a good aloe gel yet the now-discontinued 99% pure Aloe Organic Gel was far superior, non-irritating, and gentle enough for the face. This is comes short on all the above, it's a good product for legs and arms only. Do not use on face and chest, it can irritate and bring break-outs.

Great Tasting Lecithin

Easy to use, comes in a large size, therefore very economical. Best in soups, dissolves quickly in hot broth etc.

Dries out hair

Sorry but this reportedly mild shampoo proved to be too harsh for adult fine hair. It dries the hair out too much, making it dull and flyaway. Disappointing.

Great for hands and feet

Posted by iHerb Customer on May 21, 2012 | Verified Purchase

More helpful with dry heels than many other feet creams on the market. Visible results and relief after just a few days of use - a small amount twice a day after showering was enough to improve very dry, cracked skin on heels that was not responding to any other product. Great for hands as a night cream. This butter is very thick so it may be necessary to thin it a little with a lotion for better absorption on the hands. In case of very sensitive skin, it is too rich for areas such as face, neck and chest - it tends to clog pores and cause breakouts.

Very good color and conditioning

This light brown color has quite a bit of red in it, although it is a very nice shade. This henna colors and conditions very well, and it also covers gray hair thoroughly.

Very Good Product

Lovely, cool feeling gel for the body.. Great on legs, hands, arms, etc. Seems to be suited for sensitive skin, no negative reaction. Lovely product.

Not at all helpful

Posted by iHerb Customer on Sep 02, 2011 | Verified Purchase

Directions advise to take before meal - too strong for an empty stomach, even followed by food. When taken nearer to the meal, or even with the meal, it does not work at all. Thumbs down on a completely useless supplement.

Mild, effective and pleasant to use

Posted by iHerb Customer on May 23, 2008 | Verified Purchase

This herbal shampoo is gentle enough to use several times a week. It will not dry the hair, yet it will clean it thoroughly. Recommended.
