I wanted to provide a link to the March 2, 2009 article on the Cameroon study. I encourage everyone to read it so you can have a better understanding of what to expect, as well as to realize this was a small study conducted on participants from a non-American culture (who may have very different eating habits and environmental exposures). You can find the published medical report at: http://www.lipidworld.com/content/8/1/7, or can view the pdf version at: http://www.lipidworld.com/content/pdf/1476-511X-8-7.pdf. It is interesting that the majority of the weight loss occurred in weeks 8-10. Also note that the experimental participants ate a diet that was approximately 2767kcal (what Americans call nutritional calories) per day, made up of 56% carbs, 29% protein and 15% fat. While there were no diet restrictions on the participants, the details of what they ate should be noted as it provides guidance on the baseline of the participants. There is no evidence that taking 150 mg of the irvingia gabonesis extract (30-60 minutes before lunch and dinner) every day and eating something like a low carb diet, a high fat diet, or a diet with overall calories higher than 3000 will work because that is not what the study participants did. I have just ordered this product and am looking forward to embarking on the 10 week regimen. Good luck to everyone.
