Apparently, you need taurine to help boost magnesium uptake. I seem to have trouble absorbing and retaining magnesium, so I am willing to try anything at all to keep the cramps and stiff neck of low magnesium at bay!!! These are not expensive so I figure I can afford them. I have re-ordered this product several times now. I think it helps. Five stars for the low price!!!
As a "femme d'un certain age" (48, if you must know), I am assuming that my stomach acid is no longer as strong as it used to be (that's what you read, at least). I take these to try and ensure that I absorb nutrients better and don't waste the good food I make for myself and my family. When I run out of them, I do feel the difference, so I've already re-ordered these several times. I can definitely recommend them, particularly if you are low in magnesium. You need strong stomach acid to absorb magnesium, so I sometimes even take these on an empty stomach (just one capsule) when I take my Dr's Best High Absorption magnesium between meals. With meals which are high in fat and/or protein, I sometimes take two. Oh, and I also like the fact that these also contain the gentian bitters. I sometimes use a liquid bitter and they do help to calm your stomach if you've had a heavy meal. So, five stars for this one, too!!!

It is too early to say whether I have benefitted from this, but I think I may have done. One week ago, I had terrible pain due to having suddenly got a fallen arch on my right foot. As this complaint can be related to low thyroid function, I took this supplement. After two days of wearing shoes with supportive insoles and taking the selenium (amongst other pro-thyroid things), the foot pain had gone! The pain had been so excruciating that I actually went to the emergency department at the local hospital! I was very surprised to have NO pain at all just two days later. I am hoping the selenium contributed to this rapid recovery.

I am taking these as they are recommended for adrenal fatigue. I only have mild adrenal fatigue, but I figured that sleeping better wouldn't be a bad thing. I have been sleeping more deeply and soundly since taking these. It also seems to help me get to sleep more quickly. Will continue to order these.

I actually ordered this product from an online retailer in Europe because I had just discovered I was anaemic due to B12 deficiency and wanted the tablets fast. The customs here in Germany have sometimes held back iherb.com deliveries, resulting in my having to pick them up from the local branch of the customs office about four weeks after placing my original order. So this time I didn't use iherb.com, although their prices are unbeatable. At any rate, this product worked FANTASTICALLY for me!!! The fact that it takes longer to dissolve is actually a GOOD THING, as you will then absorb more of the B12. I felt better within a few days of taking this and, now, after just over a month of taking this product, I feel almost back to normal. I can walk again at my normal speed, my energy levels are back with a vengeance, I feel like my normal self again!!! My B12 levels were 477, which here was classifed as fine. However, in Japan and elsewhere in Europe, levels below 500 are seen as deficient. Apparently, a good level is around 1100-1300!!! I am sure that these work and the criticism voiced by some reviewers that they take "too long" to dissolve can be dismissed. I have some other B12 tablets and I don't feel that they work half as well and will never order them again. They disappear within seconds and that means you're not absorbing much. Edited to add the following, Dec 2011 Well, I think I may have to sound less euphoric this time. I recently had my B12 levels tested and they hadn't gone up significantly at all, just to just above 500, rather than just under 500, as reported above. I am now taking the Jarrow Formulas 5mg tablets as they seem to have good results. I genuinely felt better, so I believe it is a good product. It is possible that I have thyroid issues which may have affected my B12 levels. I am also perimenopausal and this may also have had an influence. At any rate, I'm now trying the 5mg tablets and will report back when I next get blood work done.
I try to make sure I always have these around!!! I have tried other brands of digestive enzymes, but this one seems to work best. One brand I tried smelt awful strange... As I am in my late 40s, my digestive system is probably not as effective as it used to be, so I use these (one before every meal, if I remember!!!) to try and boost absorption of the food I eat. I cook most things we eat from scratch and buy organic vegetables whenever possible, so I feel it would be a shame to waste the food I eat by not having the enzymes to digest them properly. From time to time, I have run out of these and I do notice that I feel less energetic after a while. I take them in combination with another Dr's Best product, the HCI and gentian bitters capsules. I thin that really helps me to get more value for money out of the food I eat. I wasn't absorbing food well a year ago because I had become gluten intolerant. I think my digestive system wasn't working very well back then (I had to run to the loo three times a day) so I started taking digestive enzymes. I have now given up gluten and seem to be absorbing nutrients somewhat better, but I still take these as it can take up to two years for your digestive tract to rebuild itself (I have been gluten free for almost a year now). Five stars for the fact that I definitely notice a difference when I don't take these!!!
As I suspected I had an underactive thyroid, I started taking these to see if I could give it a boost. I had no bad reactions to the tablets (no tummy upsets or the like), but I can't say I really noticed any difference either. I always wish I had a clone of myself so I could test these things more scientifically!!! At any rate, I re-ordered these and continue to take them as selenium really is essential for good thyroid function. I'm assuming they're doing mine some good and will continue to take them. I was happy that this product is gluten-free as I can no longer eat wheat products. Five stars for being gluten free!!!

I'm taking these to help with adrenal fatigue. I think they're helping me to digest my food better and my blood sugar levels are staying more stable.

I had been taking a different kind of vitamin D3 which was somewhat pricier, and when I ran out, I decided to switch to this. I am a convert to D3 and had - until I ran out of D3 - no colds this winter just gone, which I mostly put down to the D3. It also got rid of winter sadness, which I had for the first time in winter 2008.

After taking a different - and less potent - product which didn't seem to make any difference to my B12 levels, I am now trying these. I did get a boost of energy after taking 1-2 mg of B12 per day, so I am hoping to have similar results with these. I am not so bothered about whatever the blood numbers say at the end of the day, as how I feel is what counts. But I was surprised that my B12 levels didn't register as higher after I had been supplementing. On the other hand, I have only been gluten-free for a year now and perhaps I still wasn't absorbing nutrients so well when I first started taking the other B12 product in September 2010. At any rate, I shall report back in about six months to let other iherb.com customers know what my experience has been. I'm giving the product five stars nonetheless as this is the product recommended on the wrong-diagnosis website on their B12 subforum. Apparently, various forms were tested for effectiveness and this is the one that won.
