Helps with sugar cravings & a healthy tummy

Posted by iHerb Customer on Sep 16, 2010 | Verified Purchase

I've been using this along with one other probiotic to curb the sugar cravings that I get from yeast overgrowth in my gut. I also think it's helped to heal my tummy and make me less reactive to wheat.

More appropriate for food than drinks

Posted by iHerb Customer on Sep 21, 2012 | Verified Purchase

I like this stuff, but I don't use it the way the manufacturer suggests. If you put it in a drink, it turns slimy and wants to stick to the glass instead of mixing. It has no taste, really, just texture. If you really want to take glucomannan alone, well before a meal, I'd recommend going with the kind in capsules instead of powder and drinking a lot of water. That said, my intention was to add it to soy yogurt, in order to provide the organisms in the yogurt with another food/fuel source. My yogurt starts out with the consistency of pudding, and after I add this and let it sit around a couple of hours (in the fridge), it turns in to something more like cream cheese. The added fiber helps me run for longer on yogurt, especially if I get a sweetened yogurt.

Yuck!

I usually order organic ceylon cinnamon from another online merchant, so this is my one experience with Frontier's. I tried it because it was much less expensive than my other brand. It smells and tastes sour, whereas my other cinnamon smells and tastes sweet. This stuff is such a disappointment and departure from my usual brand that I actually ran starch tests on both brands to see if one was lying about their cinnamon being true ceylon, but both passed the test. I suppose that wherever Frontier gets theirs, it's just not as good; maybe too young or a foul-tasting strain. I don't know what else to think, given the expiration on the package says March 2014, which is almost three years away. I'll be switching back to my other brand pronto.

Love it, but wish it had consistent quality

Posted by iHerb Customer on Feb 18, 2011 | Verified Purchase

This has really been great for my skin. I still have blemishes in my 30s, and I think that this type of exfoliation must be what I've been needing because the acne and inflammation is so much better now. But I'm only giving 4 stars because the quality has been inconsistent. The first bottle I got had clear shards of who knows what it it, and I applied it and had to brush off the shards after it dried. The second bottle had none of those shard-splintery things. The third had them once again, and I finally realized I could strain the stuff and remove most of them. I removed over one teaspoon of mystery shards from one single bottle. I just wish the manufacturer would do this for me.

Pretty easy to use

This tastes fine (just slightly sweet). Stir it as soon as you add it to liquids, otherwise it forms clumps at the bottom of your drink.

Easy to administer to cats

I like this probiotic because none of my cats seem to notice when I add it to their food.

Affordable alternative to silymarin capsules

Posted by iHerb Customer on Jul 28, 2011 | Verified Purchase

I grind these in a coffee grinder or blender, sift them, and sprinkle this on a lot of foods. There's not much of a taste at all, and it's much less expensive than the extracts you can get in capsules. This is also useful for pets, since some can't tolerate the fillers that you find in the encapsulated products.

Big low-calorie crackers

Posted by iHerb Customer on Sep 21, 2012 | Verified Purchase

I like these, but be aware they are fairly hard as far as crackers go. They're not difficult to eat because they have a lot of air, which must be how they minimize calories in such large crackers. (I'm comparing them to the rye crackers I used to eat.) I prefer the Organ crackers with quinoa to the ones without, since they taste a little saltier somehow and go better with savory things.

Love this

I'm super pale, and was afraid this might be too dark, but it's great. I use a paint brush to apply it to little areas I want to conceal, and I usually don't use any other foundation.

Seems to work for me

Posted by iHerb Customer on Nov 08, 2010 | Verified Purchase

I've used this when my partner has been sick, and it seems to keep a minor irritation from turning into a full-blown cold. I have not noticed any side effects, and plan to keep using it when I'm around sick people and feeling run down.
