This stuff is the only brand I will buy - it does the job of offensive odor stemming from eating too much garlic, etc.

Microcrystalline cellulose, stearic acid, hydroxypropyl cellulose, modified cellulose gum, magnesium stearate

Posted by iHerb Customer on Feb 28, 2016 | Verified Purchase

I have just read about certain ingredients, namely cellulose, that vitamin manufacturers have been putting in their vitamins. I bought this product thinking NON GMO would be better but look at the ingredients - Microcrystalline cellulose, stearic acid, hydroxypropyl cellulose, modified cellulose gum, magnesium stearate, and silica......if you google cellulose - it is wood pulp. I have read that some cellulose comes from vegetable pulp and I would be fine with that - but this product only states "cellulose" so it leads me to believe that it is from wood. I am highly allergic to wood shavings - when around them I have an asthma attack. I just found Thorne Research products that don't contain all that stuff. Until manufacturers start specifically saying what it is that's in their product - I will avoid buying them. So, now I am dumping many of my vitamins that contain cellulose and magnesium stearate and all that other junk and buying only more natural products that do not contain these "fillers". I-Herb will be happy with that!!!!

I took alpha lipoic acid years ago and didn't notice a difference. I wanted to start taking this again as an antioxidant along with my vitamins c, e, and also to lower blood sugar. This R form is something I've never seen but I've read it is stronger than the alpha one. The first time I took it wow I had energy and lower blood sugar readings. The second day I took it I began to have anxiety. I will take these only once a week to get some benefit from it. But I won't take it on a daily basis as it is too much for me. Also, I ordered the 50mg alpha lipoic acid to see the difference on how I feel. Overall, there are many good things said about lipoic acid on reputable websites, so I will definitely be taking some form of lipoic acid frequently.

I just bought Thorne Research cal-mag and I think I'll be happy with that. Until manufacturers start specifically saying what it is that's in their product - I will avoid buying them.
