Jarrow Formulas L-Glutamine 1000 excellent for Heart Burn/Reflux

Posted by iHerb Customer on Dec 12, 2009 | Verified Purchase

I was taking acid blockers for acid reflux, which somewhat relieved my symptoms, but I could still get heartburn and reflux on them. A nutritionist recommended either cabbage juice, or L-Glutamine AND PepZinGI. I started taking both and stopped taking the acid blockers. I do not get reflux anymore, and seldom get heartburn. I take 4 L-glutamine 1000's in the morning on an empty stomach and 2 Jarrow Formulas PepZinGI with food. I have noticed L-glutamine on its own seems to do an incredible job because I forgot to take the PepZinGI a couple of times, and did not get symptoms. However, PepZinGI is still required because I tried to go a week without and some reduced symptoms recurred.

Iso Rich Soy

Posted by iHerb Customer on Jan 20, 2010 | Verified Purchase

I use the Iso-rich soy isolate immediately after I work out. When taken in the proper proportions to how hard I worked out, along with a mixture of simple carbohydrates and other nutrients, I have found this to be an incredible product. I have found it is easier to hand mix the soy, if a blender is used it creates a lot of foam. Put the liquid in the glass first (I use skim milk). Then stir in the soy. If you put the soy in first and put the milk over it, for some reason the soy clumps at the bottom of the glass.

relieves acid reflux/heartburn when taken with L-glutamine

Posted by iHerb Customer on Dec 12, 2009 | Verified Purchase

I was on acid blockers for acid reflux/heartburn. This helped my symptoms but I still could suffer from both while I was taking the acid blockers. A nutritionist recommended PepZinGi and L-glutamine as a combination. I took both and my symptoms went away and have not recurred as long as I continue to take both. I take two of these tablets with food and 4 L-Glutamine 1000's on an empty stomach. I have skipped PepZinGi for a couple of days and the L-glutamine seemed to work by itself. However, I tried stop taking PepZinGI altogether and mild symptoms returned after a week, so I find I have to keep taking both.
