Healthy Origin Chlorella Pills compared to Powder

Posted by iHerb Customer on March 6 2017 | Verified Purchase

It is so easy to pop a pill rather than eat a spoonful of chlorella powder. Chlorella powder is so dusty it will choke me and has to be mixed with salad, sauce, juice, etc. So I looked for pills. Most of the pills available are disappointingly pale and poor in taste when compared to the rich dark-green Yaeyama chlorella powder - and this Healthy Origins pill is no exception: it is pale and bland in taste when chewed. But it is cheaper than other pills and is not so tiny, so that I don't have to pop so many of them to get the recommended 5 grams per day. Result: I buy both the powder and these pills to get the valuable minerals in Chlorella that are recommended by Dr Mercola and Oz.

Now Foods L-Theanine 100mg.

Posted by iHerb Customer on December 6 2013 | Verified Purchase

I usually take another brands 200mg, Jarrow and those are hardly noticeable, so Now Foods 100mg is not noticed by me. but it might work. Only concern is the general lack of details on Now's labels. This is especially troublesome on their Vitamin K, because: There are over 4 kinds of vitamin K-4. Menaquinone 4, 7,8 and 11. Only the Menaquinone 7 is of true value for humans. The others are inexpensive or synthetic forms of no true value. Now Foods has a large number of vitamin supplements that avoid telling us exactly what we are getting. And I am getting more suspicious of this company for this evasive strategy.

carnitine: Dr Oz warns against taking it

Posted by iHerb Customer on August 11 2013 | Verified Purchase

I watched an episode in which Dr Oz explained, with a heart specialist, that latest research shows that this will change in your intestine into a substance that sticks to your arteries, eventually clogging them causing strokes and heart attack. When I tried to return the bottle, it was refused because it is already open. Now the manufacturers are up to it and are saying l- carnitive is safe if you don't eat lots of red meat: steaks, roasts, and hamburgers = that's anti-amerikano!

Coenzymated B complex jump in price

Posted by iHerb Customer on August 10 2012 | Verified Purchase

We bought these because I read that you have to be careful not to overburdon the body with the synthetic kind which can actually harm the body. We were feeling tired out a lot so thought maybe we are low on B vitamins. Our sick friend also ordered them and actually gets a boost of energy from them. I guess this means that he was deficient. When I take them, I don't notice any boost, so I guess that means I am not deficient even though I feel rather tired. We noticed the price shot up from $21.25 on the last iherb order to $25.50. This is a huge price jump of exactly 20%. Wow! Millie from Canuckland

Doctor told me to take it for liver

Posted by iHerb Customer on August 13 2015 | Verified Purchase

Taking it for cyrosis of the liver because my doctor told me to. It also seems to help after going to a party and drinking wine: no hangover. I also tried the Natural Factors brand: that smells strongly of chemical or plastic. Noticed someone else also complained. I guess each company uses a different manufacturing method. Dr Best is also one that I enjoy taking.

Seems to work for diaharea

Posted by iHerb Customer on October 3 2011 | Verified Purchase

In spite of it only having 12 billion instead of the minimum recommended 15 billion. And in spite of it having only 4 varieties of bacteria instead of 8 or 15 varieties, it does work for us with diaharea. Another brand with 20 bilion and more varieties did not work as well. from Canuckland

Vitamin C: relatively good deal and non GMO

Posted by iHerb Customer on January 13 2015 | Verified Purchase

|I like this one because it is made in gool ol usa plus it has lots of bioflavenoids and is a reasonable price. I used to get the Now brand one (buffered 180 pills, 1000mg with lots of bioflavenoids) for $19, but discovered that it is probably GMO, so I try to avoid it. Both work well for inflammation especially of the teeth gums.

Seems OK, but expensive update:

Posted by iHerb Customer on March 6 2014 | Verified Purchase

We originally bought this ultra-expensive product to see if it would help with diahrea, but it did not help at all. So it might help others or is for completely different health issues. Tastes delicious and went fast. Our local hospital analysed a selection of probiotics selected from local stores. Amazingly 2 of them had absolutely no living probiotics in them and ALL of the rest of them had extremely small %'s of probiotics: instead of 16Billion, only 70 million! None of the companies tested had anywhere near the advertised potency.

Cheap and pretty complete

Posted by iHerb Customer on September 9 2008 | Verified Purchase

These vitamins are cheap!. I like that they have a good amount of the bioavailable form of calcium. Selenium is the good form, but should be a little more. B12 is the good methyl form. D3 is the good form. Unfortunately the other forms of B vits are all blanket 50mg and the cheapest synthetic form. also Beta Carotene seems to be synthetic. But you can't expect better at this cheap price. The better organic B's are from New Chapter, but in tiny amounts and expensive! Millie from Cannuckenville
