Adding collagen to a protein shake will make it thicker and make it absorb slower. This is why it's good for dieting: it keeps you full longer. Aging people need at least 10 g of collagen per day to replace what is lost. I take 50 g per day, 5 days a week, in the protein shake I drink at work. People can not believe how good my skin looks for my age. Another excellent supplement which makes your skin glow is Acetyl-Glutathione. It's a form of glutathione which can be absorbed into cells.

I think the eye strain and pain I have after working on the computer may be due to eye muscle strain and circulation strain, and not a problem with the retina (which Lutein helps). I have also taken Zeaxanthin from LEF, with no effect. Strange. I tried many brands of Lutein, with no effect. Instead of lutein, I recommend taking Idebenone (which had an effect on my tired eyes from the very first softgel I took) and Astaxanthin (which takes about 1 month to build up).

I have tried many types of iron. Iron is great but it also produces inflammation and oxidative stress. This form of iron is highly bioavailable and produces very little inflammation. O take it with lactoferrin which increases the bioavailability of iron, increases immunity and also decreases inflammation. Some nutrients which are synergistic with iron (for creating red blood cells) are: vitamin B12 (methylcobalamin or adenosylcobalamin), methylfolate, copper, zinc etc.

I have discovered through genome sequencing using 23andme that my body has a problem converting beta carotene into real vitamin A, also called retinyl. Taking this supplement has improved my vision from the first few pills I took - no more blurred vision! It also increases immunity. The dose of 10,000 IU is a high but quite safe dose. Don't forget to take vitamin D3 with it, otherwise vitamin A taken alone can weaken your bones and increase the risk of fractures.
