Natrol won't reply to my query
Posted by emanuela on Mar 09, 2014 | Verified Purchase
I have written to Natrol twice asking whether this product contains GMO (for instance, the vitamin C part). No reply yet. I am suspicious of companies that do not take the time to reply to customer queries.
Pity about the additives

magnesium stearate, gelatin... wish they were not in there!
Could be better

I like the idea of coenzymate B complex but this seems to contain folic acid, not a good folate form.
Taste: ok, not great - May need to be refrigerated or finished quickly after opening

First time I've purchased this: I don't care much about the taste. It is ok, mind you, and healthier than the alternatives, hence my purchase. PROBLEM: Some white ball-shaped items have formed on top (as if it were mould, not sure what it is) and I am unsure if I should bin the item.
Purchased in error - contains SUCRALOSE!!!
Posted by emanuela on Jan 03, 2015 | Verified Purchase
I thought these were healthy gelatin bars and I wanted to up my intake of gelatin for its health benefits. Expensive for just powder pouches. One star because they also contain SUCRALOSE (bad for you) as well as too much sugar (also bad for you). This information was not given in the main product description. Unhappy.
Great Product but buy it elsewhere

Great product, have been using it for a few years. Unfortunately, at the moment (Nov 2015), iherb does NOT offer a great price on it. It is currently $20.88 on iherb and $7 cheaper on another website... I recommend buying it elsewhere until iherb lowers its price.
OK but hate eccipients

Why do they have to use: rice powder, magnesium stearate (vegetable source), silicon dioxide ? I want none of this garbage in my supplements. If this the best the doctor can do... we are in trouble
Extreme stomach pain (like ulcer)
Posted by emanuela on Nov 02, 2014 | Verified Purchase
I admit I have a bit of a weak stomach (though my digestive issues seemed to have been solved 2 years ago). In any case, I thought it'd be prudent to start by taking just ONE of these WITH a meal (not two away from meals as instructed). At the end of the first day, I had very bad stomach pains, as if a blade was stuck into my stomach, sharp and burning. I will NEVER buy this again, I do NOT recommend you even try these unless you have a very strong digestive system. Be ready to throw the whole pot into the bin as I have had to do. I had high expectations of this item. Very disappointed.

Not used regularly for long-term digestive issues (previous H. Pylori infection, GERD etc), because it does not help at all in the short term (made things worse). It seems that it is weaker than Source Naturals' which could be because they recommend taking two capsules twice a day (while Doctor's Best recommend just one capsule twice a day), the PepZin content in one capsule is the same. Other concern: The Doctor's Best PepZin GI bottle I purchased a year ago lists "calcium carbonate" as the first ingredient in the "other ingredients" list. Now, that is an unwelcome discovery, as this ingredient is used as an antacid and so could well impair digestion. Iherb does not list calcium carbonate, so you may want to double-check before you purchase. Hope this is useful.
