About Me

As you can see at left, I'm located in Australia. Australia is a first-world country, but the product availability is AWFUL. And, if you manage to even find what you're looking for, you pay three-to-four times as much for it. So, I'm sorry local shops, but if I can import bulk amounts from iHerb and pay less than buying individual quantities from you, then you've got a mark-up problem. Internet shopping isn't killing the retail industry-- your unrealistic prices are.

Helps control my eating

Posted by pugface on Jun 05, 2015 | Verified Purchase

I'm perpetually stressed, so my adrenals are always in overdrive. This product doesn't help with the stress any but I do notice that when I take it regularly I don't start absent-mindedly eating as a stress-coping mechanism, and I really appreciate that because the last thing I need is a ton of weight gain on top of all the other stress!

Erythritol is a strange beast.

It is a GREAT sugar substitute with a low glycemic impact, which is great for people watching their blood sugar levels, their weight, or simply looking for a sugar substitute for whatever reason. It's about 70% as sweet as sugar, so using it as a 1:1 replacement will lessen the sweetness of a recipe (which I like), however, too much of it gives a weird feeling in the mouth. It's a little bit cooling (almost numbing?)-- but that's only if you use A LOT of it (ie; in a sweet pie or cake). In small amounts, that effect is negligible.

Not bad for chai

Posted by pugface on Jun 05, 2015 | Verified Purchase

I'm not the biggest fan of chai, but I do love black tea-- this is not chai. This is black tea with a pinch of cinnamon in it masquerading as chai. That's all fine and good for someone who likes to drink black tea on it's own, but if you're expecting chai, this is not it.

Excellent quality and excellent value

Healthy Origins brand is proving to be a winner in my house. This coconut oil is everything you want coconut oil to be-- good for frying, for greasing, for using in baking and in recipes where a fat is called for, with JUST the right amount of that refreshing coconut taste. $25.00 for 1.5 litres is also a price that can't be beat. It's been a great purchase that I will repeat.

Sierra Bees nails it again

Yet another awesomely hydrating lip balm to take up residence in the corners of my bag ;) In all seriousness though, these are wonderfully reparative for dry lips, and because the ingredients are organic and animal-safe, I use it to moisturize my dog's nose too. He loves the scent and so do I.

Versatile colour

Posted by pugface on Jun 05, 2015 | Verified Purchase

I'm ultra-pale with blonde hair, but I like to wear my eyebrows really thick and dark. Starting with a lighter brown like this gives me the opportunity to fill in my near-invisible natural brows, and keep adding colour until I'm happy with the depth. I think this is a better option than starting with a really dark pencil and trying not to overdo it. The automatic barrel is really great because you don't have to keep a sharpener on hand and then get little eyebrow pencil shavings everywhere. The brush on the lid is pretty ineffectual for grooming purposes, but is good for brushing any extra pigment overkill off the brow hairs. [Edited to add: apparently there's a built-in sharpener at the bottom of the pencil? I didn't even notice!]

It's a little hard to make claims about how well vitamins work

Posted by pugface on Feb 05, 2014 | Verified Purchase

I mean, we are just consumers, not laboratories. However, I personally find that taking Iron supplements stops me from feeling lethargic during the day. 27mg is more than enough of a supplement for someone who consumes red meat in their diet, and the tablets are smooth-coated and small for easy swallowing. Also, at $3 for 110 tablets, this is a bargain.

Improved energy and fewer migraines

Posted by pugface on Jul 03, 2015 | Verified Purchase

I tried this first as a sample with no real effect-- you are NOT going to experience a world of change after just 10 pills. This is something you need to persist with. After a month of taking CoQ10 I'm finding my energy levels improved and my migraines reduced in frequency.

Great for easing yourself into sleep!

I take these twice a day-- just before dinner and right before bed, and it really helps me to relax after a long, stressful day.

One in the morning and off we go!

Posted by pugface on Jun 05, 2015 | Verified Purchase

I take one of these in the morning as a wake-up aid-- like your morning coffee but in pill form. It gets me buzzing to go and curbs my hunger a little, so I can have a tiny breakfast and go about my day with as much energy as if I had a large breakfast. I lost a little weight whilst taking these.
