Great form of this important mineral

Posted by iHerb Customer on Oct 04, 2008 | Verified Purchase

This product is probably a safer choice than taking laxatives, especially the "polymer" based ones. Magnesium itself is important for health; it's hard to get in food. The cheap oxide form is poorly absorbed. Not the FDA, but the Office of Dietary Supplements writes about its role (Google 'magnesium health' without the '): An observational study examined the effect of various nutritional factors on incidence of high blood pressure in over 30,000 US male health professionals. After four years of follow-up, it was found that a lower risk of hypertension was associated with dietary patterns that provided more magnesium, potassium, and dietary fiber [37]. For 6 years, the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) Study followed approximately 8,000 men and women who were initially free of hypertension. In this study, the risk of developing hypertension decreased as dietary magnesium intake increased in women, but not in men [38].

A good form of iodine

Posted by iHerb Customer on Oct 04, 2008 | Verified Purchase

Dr. Donald Miller (if you Google "Iodine health", no ") writes of iodine's importance. What he writes is of interest: As these physicians point out, consuming iodine in milligram doses should, of course, be coupled with a complete nutritional program that includes adequate amounts of selenium, magnesium, and Omega-3 fatty acids. Done this way, an iodine intake 100 times the reference daily intake is "the simplest, safest, most effective and least expensive way to help solve the health care crisis crippling our nation," as the leader of The Iodine Project, Dr. Abraham, puts it. Oh, Babel Fish translated the Japanese review: Cost performance [is] high. It is extremely normal kalium [i.e., potassium].

Health journalist Bill Sardi takes this product!

Posted by iHerb Customer on Oct 04, 2008 | Verified Purchase

So far, so good. Works as a natural anti-histamine, and to me, the Vitamin C in this form doesn't seem as acid as in an ordinary pill. You can find more about Quercetin via Bill's TheCancerbook.com or Google "Bill Sardi Archives" without the ". Or just search "Quercetin".

Bill Sardi takes this, but it works great for me too!

I bought this because this is what Bill Sardi (Yahoo or Google search "Bill Sardi") takes; it is more expensive than the typical Nature Made or Nature Bounty product, yet it does appear to be of superior quality. Nordic Natruals' site has information that many major clinical studies, e.g. Harvard, use their products. So far so good.

Good source of Malate and Magnesium

Helps with relaxation, and has essential magnesium that is easily absorbed, versus the typical "pharmacy" or multi-vitamin product.

Best selenium on the market

Posted by iHerb Customer on Dec 14, 2008 | Verified Purchase

This is the best form of Selenium to purchase and use. The latest news reports notwithstanding, I believe using Seleno Excel with Natrol Quercetin, Nordic Naturals Omega 3 oils in addition to Vitamin D 2,000 IU with Magnesium, such at Now Magnesium Citrate should be beneficial. You may Google "Donald Miller Selenium" for a good article with references.
