Love it, but don't use it for hard to dissolve powders.

Excellent Taste

Although the alcohol is perceivable when tasting the sauce, once you mix it with food is excellent.

Refined Chocolate Taste, Pizza Spice Taste

Posted by iHerb Customer on Dec 28, 2011 | Verified Purchase

I'm not sure what was it, but it had an off taste, like that of pizza spice. The chocolate taste was more refined than other brands (process with alkali), but the mix is extremely thick.

Strong Chocolate Flavor

Posted by iHerb Customer on Dec 28, 2011 | Verified Purchase

It seems the chocolate is not process with alkali, which is how some people prefer it, so the taste is not of refined chocolate, but not bad.

No Other Ingredients

It doesn't have other ingredients besides the cellulose capsule. Some people have issues with wood pulp (cellulose), you can open the capsules if you do.

Maple Syrup Additives

Posted by iHerb Customer on Jul 10, 2012 | Verified Purchase

"Butter to line the casks they collect the syrup in" - "Butter and (in some cases) peanut oil can be used to keep maple syrup from frothing up and boiling over" - "Defoamers - Many different products are used to reduce the foaming of the boiling sap during evaporation. Commercially available vegetable fat derivatives, either liquid or powdered, butter, milk, or vegetable oil is often used. Only a small amount is needed to control foaming and using too much will create an off-flavor in the syrup." (http://maple.dnr.cornell.edu/pubs/MapleFlavor&SyrupGrading.pdf)

Dry, Not Like They Used To Be

Posted by iHerb Customer on Nov 06, 2011 | Verified Purchase

The packaging of these cookies was like Pamela's cookies years ago. They were creamy, but now they are dry (like other gluten-free cookies). The texture and freshness varies a lot.
