Working Great!

Posted by iHerb Customer on Jun 12, 2010 | Verified Purchase

I did a zinc taste test first using Ethical Nutrients zinc sulphate. Currently using Now Zinc Picolinate supplement to correct my zinc level. It's working great and is gentle on my system. I have used other Now products in the past and am very pleased with this one too. Our ability to absorb zinc declines with age and a deficiency can lead to numerous health conditions. Digestive disorders and certain medications (diuretics, blood pressure, acid suppressing, oral contraceptives, non-bioidentical hormone replacement) deplete zinc. Vegetarians and vegans especially need to monitor levels. Besides strengthening the immune system, zinc is instrumental in healing wounds, stabilizing blood glucose, neurological function, sense of taste and smell, normal growth during pregnancy, childhood, and adolescence; protects against macular degeneration, helps boost libido, effectively treats acne, eczema, and eating disorders.

Not good for laxative

Posted by iHerb Customer on Oct 02, 2011 | Verified Purchase

Once I discovered that Now had castor oil capsules couldn't wait to try them since the liquid is very unpleasant to take. I give Now an A+ for effort, but if you are looking to use this as a laxative stick with the liquid form and don't waste your money. An adult serving of the liquid form is 1 to 4 tablespoons for laxative purposes. However, these capsules contain only 1/8 teaspoon each. I gave it two tries: 10 capsules at once and 1 tablespoon equivalent at once - came up with bupkis each time. One would probably have to consume the entire bottle (or almost) for laxative results. A more pleasant way to take the liquid: Take a tablespoon at a time mixed with 1T of lemon juice, quickly swallow while pinching the nose so you don't smell the castor oil - works like a charm; or mix the entire amount you want to take in a fruit smoothie and drink it down.

Test Your Zinc Level

Posted by iHerb Customer on Jun 12, 2010 | Verified Purchase

Used this to do a zinc taste test and it worked great! iHerb was out of stock on Thorne Research brand when I ordered, which is cheaper. I also purchased Now Foods Zinc Picolinate to correct my zinc level. It is VERY important to test your zinc level and you can do it at home for less. Our ability to absorb zinc declines with age and a deficiency can lead to numerous health conditions. Digestive disorders and certain medications (diuretics, blood pressure, acid suppressing, oral contraceptives, non-bioidentical hormone replacement) deplete zinc. Best Type of B-Complex

Posted by iHerb Customer on Jun 12, 2010 | Verified Purchase

Just started using this product after researching the best Vitamin B-Complex to take - coenzyme. Since it doesn't require the usual conversion, it's better absorbed and you don't need high potency. Love that Country Life is concerned with quality and uses methyl B-12 instead of cyanocobalamin. Love that you take on empty stomach and it does not upset nor repeat on me. I've used other Country Life products and love this one. The 240 count is a great value. If you find you need to take more of this than recommended dosage to see results, it probably means you are deficient in the B vitamins.

Great D3 Supplement!

Posted by iHerb Customer on Jun 12, 2010 | Verified Purchase

I've used this supplement for years and am very happy with it. Vitamin D3 is so VERY critical and I know I do not get sufficient sun exposure to make the amount my body requires (most people do not). I chew these soft gels. Carlson produces quality supplements and is highly recommended in the natural health community. Vitamin D deficiency is unfortunately very prevalent. Find out your D status by asking your doctor for a 25 hydroxy D test. You want to be between 50 to 60 ng/mL (in US) and 125 to 150 nmol/L (outside US). Every 100 IU of supplementation will raise 25 hydroxy D by about 1 ng/mL, or 2.5 nmol/L. Do the math to figure out what you need to correct your numbers once you get your test results and then go on a maintenance dose. iHerb has a fantastic price - thanks iHerb!

Quality Supplement!

Posted by iHerb Customer on Jun 12, 2010 | Verified Purchase

I've been using this supplement for years. AC Grace puts lots of care into this, as they only produce Vitamin E. You can rest assured that the quality is outstanding - no rancid or trans fat oils here. Highly recommended in the natural health community. iHerb has a great price for the 120 count!

Grass-fed goodness, no junk!

Posted by iHerb Customer on Jun 17, 2012 | Verified Purchase

This protein powder is outstanding. First of all, it has the best nutritional profile as the source is grass-fed cows. Important to note that the lecithin is non-GMO and it is stevia sweetened. The taste and texture is great and value (2-pounds)is phenomenal. Bluebonnet accomplished all of this without adding junk to the ingredients. I also enjoy Jay Robb's whey protein; sadly, iHerb does not carry his line of products, which led me to discover Bluebonnet. You will not be disappointed. Thus far I've only used the french vanilla flavor as it is more adaptable for me to add various fruits and powders.
