Ardent user of Avalon shower gel

Posted by Reviewer2905303 on Jun 26, 2011 | Verified Purchase

My wife and I use this product as our standard bath gel. We sometimes try other gels (those with no sodium laurel sulphate), but it seems we always gravitate back to the Avalon product. My wife cured her sfter-shower itchy skin simply by using this mild shower gel.

Lewis Labs is my preferred brand of brewers' yeast. The key to understanding the quality is in the chemical composition and the beet origin. Extras are: no phosphorus (too much of it in western diets as it is), higher protein and a little PABA for good skin. Do your homework and read up, and then you'll know why this brand excels over others. Mild flavor in coffee or juice -- but my cat likes it straight!

Zero sugar and zero artificial sweetener

If you're one of the hundreds of millions who are striving to keep the blood sugar from spiking, this is a marvellous postmeal food. They have every bit the full flavor and tartness of fresh raspberries. If traveling, store the contents in a jar since in the bag the soft, dried berries tend to break up into pieces.

I can only assume it's doing its job of mopping up free radicals in the body. Read the ingredients -- contains lecithin. If you're already taking a lecithin supplement, make sure to adjust downwards your daily lecithin intake.

Delicious

Has a sort of hickory nut flavor and slightly firm texture similar to steamed wheat berries. I simmered it for an hour in half water and half broth.

Not for everybody -- taste is similar to chickpea soup

Place four tablespoons of the powder in a small bowl, add about two tablespoons of juice and stir for a good two minutes. For its wonderful plant-origen protein content, I often make this my last meal of the day (a mini-meal) taken at about nine or ten o'clock at night. Don't buy this product and expect it to taste like a sugary Nesquik or to be instant dissolving. Neither of the above, and decidedly not for children or youth.

Smells like the real thing, but orange rind isn't among my favorite odors.

Better-than-average quality

It costs a bit more than the local supermarket brand that gets their product from Ethiopia by using unfair trade practices in order to keep the villagers dirt poor. The quality of these nuts is decidedly better -- a lot fresher-tasting.

It adds a rather convincing butter flavor to cooked foods without the unhealthy traits of real butter.

Slows absorption of glucose into the bloodstream

Appears to work fine, but I personally prefer mixing a teaspoon of guar gum in a glass of cold water with fresh-squeezed lemon juice. Guar gum will remain in gel form even after coming in contact with gastric juices. Both glucomannan and guar gum will lower the glycemic index of most any ordinary food.
