We have selected a unique, complementary blend of beans for soups and chilis with exceptionally rich flavor and wholesome, stick-to-your-rib heartiness. Try our simple recipes on this package, or use these beans in your favorite recipe calling for beans.
Suggested Use
Basic Cooking Instructions
2 cups 13 Bean Soup Mix
2 ½ quarts Water
1 Ham Hock
1 cup Onion, chopped
15 oz can Tomato Sauce or 1 quart. fresh Tomatoes
1 ½ tsp. to 1 Tbsp. Chili Powder
2 Garlic cloves, minced (or 2 tsp Garlic Powder)
Rinse 2 cups Bob’s Red Mill 13 Bean Soup Mix, then soak overnight in water or cover. In the morning drain, rinse the beans.
Combine the beans with 2 ½ quarts of water and ham hock; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until beans are soft, 3 to 3 ½ hours. Add onion, tomato sauce or tomatoes and seasonings. Simmer 30 minutes. Makes 8-10 servings.
Beans, peas, and lentils are natural agricultural products. Despite use of modern agricultural equipment, it is not always possible to remove all foreign material. Sort and rinse before cooking.
