Elegant and smooth with a honey-like richness and sweet, subtle fruity aromas

White teas represent tea in perhaps its simplest, most noble form. Tender buds and sprouts are plucked in early spring, then simply withered and dried to preserve and celebrate their exquisite character and delicately sweet flavor. These elite teas are known traditionally as the "Scholar's Tea" for energizing poets, statesmen and intellectuals with a reflective, calm state of focus.

Plucking Standard

Single bud.

Tea Origin: Fujian, China

Region: Fuding, Fujian, China

Elevation: 400m-500m

Cultivar: Fuding Da Hao

Crafting Style

Pure, downy spring tea buds from the birthplace of white tea in northern Fujian are simply withered and carefully dried to create this original "Scholar's Tea," beloved for its savory chamomile-like flavor, smooth palate and the calm, yet wakeful energy it promotes.

Suggested Use

Brewing Guide:

1 tsp/8 oz H2O 185ºF/85ºC

Too "white"

Almost without any taste, but maybe it supposed to be so. For additional savings enter HJL-112 without dash before Checkout :-)

wastage of packaging

Posted by iHerb Customer on Oct 23, 2017 | Verified Purchase

I ordered 4 units of this. The tea is great but each of the unit comes in a metal tin, which is a waste of resources and is not earth friendly. Although is nice but i could just do with one tin for storage of an open packet and 3 units can come as refill packs. In this way, u can save on resources and postage.

A little disappointing

Posted by iHerb Customer on Dec 23, 2015 | Verified Purchase

I bought this based on the rave reviews. I'm an avid tea drinker and had really high expectations. This tea is delicious, but imo not worth the high price for the amount of tea that you get and the taste. It's organic and hand picked so I guess that is why but I will not purchase this again as I feel there are better organic alternatives out there.

Best white tea ever

Posted by iHerb Customer on Feb 09, 2015 | Verified Purchase

I found this tea at a restaurant which served Rishi tea and it is delicious. It is the best of white teas in my opinion. White tea has the least caffeine so it is something with a great taste but lighter.
