Rooibos

Afrikaans for 'Red Bush' pronounced 'Roy-Boss' is a member of the Legume family of plants. It grows exclusively in the Cedarberg Mountains and around Clanwilliam in South Africa. Rooibos is free of caffeine.

San People

The ancient San Bushmen are believed to be the first to utilize wild Rooibos. Large-scale cultivation and industrial processing of the plant began during the 1930s.

Harvesting Technique

The leaves of the Rooibos bush are harvested, bruised, finely chopped, moistened and fermented in mounds. The result is rich flavor and distinct red colored thin leaves.

Flavor Profile

Cape Town Rooibos is also delicious as an iced tea or combined with fruit juices, smoothies or drinks. Fragrant, cooling and sweet flavor profile.

Suggested Use

Use one teaspoon of Cape Town Rooibos for eight ounces water and steep at 185 F for five minutes. Can be re-infused at least two times.

Other Ingredients

100% organic rooibos, 100% organic chamomile, 100% organic spearmint, 100% organic red rose petals, 100% organic orange peel and 100% organic lemon verbena.
