Origin, South Africa
A caffeine free blend of South African Rooibos and refreshing herbs that include red rose petals, chamomile, lemon verbena, spearmint and orange peel.
Rooibos
Afrikaans for 'Red Bush' and pronounced 'Roy-Boss', Rooibos is a member of the Legume family. It grows exclusively in the Cedarberg Mountains and around Clanwilliam in South Africa.
San People
The ancient San Bushmen are believed to be the first to utilize wild Rooibos. Large-scale cultivation and industrial processing of the plant began during the 1930s.
Harvesting Technique
The leaves of the Rooibos bush are harvested, bruised, finely chopped, moistened and fermented in mounds. This results in rich-flavored, thin, red-colored cut leaves.
Flavor Profile
Fragrant, cooling and sweet flavor. Delicious as an iced tea or combined with fruit juices and smoothies.
Suggested Use
Use one teaspoon of Cape Town Rooibos for eight ounces water and steep at 185°F for five minutes. Can be re-infused at least two times.
Other Ingredients
Organic rooibos, organic chamomile, organic spearmint, organic red rose petals, organic orange peel and organic lemon verbena.
