Expiration Date:Expiration Date
The length of time for the expiration date or "best used before" date depends on the type of product, as well as the brand.
Perishable items (such as flax oils or certain probiotics) generally have shorter expiration dates. Although our warehouse is fully air-conditioned, these more fragile items are put in cold storage (freezer or refrigeration unit) for maximum freshness.
Our receiving department does its best to verify and then enter the correct expiration dates for all incoming products. However, discrepancies do occur from time to time. This being said, the exceptionally high turnover at iHerb ensures that our inventory is among the freshest in the industry.

Origin Uji, Japan
Grown in Uji, regarded as the center of Matcha production. Matcha, has a rich history and a special spiritual significance. It has traditionally been prepared in 'Chanoyu', the Japanese Tea Ceremony representing an art form of tea. It is said that a person operating within the rules of Chanoyu, finds the five senses working at their fullest.
Just as Matcha is essential to Japan's traditional art of the tea ceremony, a cup of Matcha brings about mental concentration, emotional stability and composure.
Unlike other teas whose leaves are infused in water and discarded, Matcha has ingredients that can be utilized fully to activate the organic functions of the body. Matcha contains essential vitamins, minerals and has close to zero calories. It has higher beta carotene than spinach or carrots, and generally higher antioxidants than most teas.
In making this tea, the tea plants are covered with bamboo mats in the last few weeks of their growing season to promote full flavor.
After the leaves are plucked, they are steamed, then rapidly cooled and ground by stone mills into a powder. A single mill can only process 40 grams of leaves per hour.
The Tao of Tea
Like the Tao, the art of tea is universal. We began our work with tea in 1997 to be a connecting thread for tea culture. Practicing the art on a daily basis in our teahouses in Portland, Oregon, we are a group of tea enthusiasts from different backgrounds and cultures. We travel, learn, take delight and seek to offer pure leaf teas with great flavor, artistry and soul. Our reward comes through actions that help people's lives, sustain the art of tea and promise a healthy environment.
Sweet, buttery and rich oceanic taste. It is ideally prepared with a bamboo whisk in a bowl. However, it can also be prepared in a variety of drinks, shakes and smoothies.
100% organic powdered green tea.

Hopefully I can solve some of the questions that you may have of this product after reading the reviews. I have been drinking matcha for years and have tried many brands, most of them incredibly expensive. This is not a top quality macha. That is why it doesn't cost over $100. What is the difference? It really is just the colour. This is not brown in colour, as some have described- it is a leafy, mossy green. Premium matcha IS more vibrant in colour but tastes the same. Some reviewers mentioned they weren't able to get a creamy foam on top when whisking- I have been able to on occasion- the water must be at the right temperature- not too hot or cold, however, with a premium product this does work every time. Considering the price and that matcha contains at least 5 times the antioxidants of loose-leaf green tea, I will definitely stop spending so much on this product again. The only difference between this and the more expensive brands is that, as they are greener they would contain more chlorophyll and marginally more antioxidants. If you are smart though (and not wealthy), you would realise that this product is still the wiser choice.

This Match is not High grade, it's medium grade good for baking and cold smoothies not hot drinks. I didn't like its pale green color and it taste bitter.

I have found this tea to be of high quality and great taste. It stays fresh in the container, which is also great to save for storing other teas.
DISGUSTING TASTE - ZERO STARS

I was so excited to make my favourite smoothie with this matcha as the reviews was pretty convincing. Yet I haven't been able to drink any of my many attempts of smoothies or other stuff. Either has my friends. I've tried my best not to throw it away and find a possible use for it ... but it ended up in the trash after two years of hiding in the top shelf I never even write reviews, but this I felt like warning you from. I cant understand how people are able to consume this. Ugh
