Texture is terrible

Posted by funkydharma on Sep 25, 2012 | Verified Purchase

This stuff is so thick and lumpy that it gets stuck in the tube and is really hard to rub in properly. It also seems to separate in the tube as watery stuff comes out as well. I had to throw it away in the end.

Healthy sunscreen for your family

Posted by Reviewer3130200 on Jul 12, 2012 | Verified Purchase

As a mother, I like Badger sunscreen for my family, because the Badger brand is very careful at which ingredients they put in their skincare products. When I first learned about the unhealthy products in most sunscreens, I was shocked at what I had been putting on my children's skin. I threw out all my sunblocks and started fresh. If you have researched sunscreens like I have, you will know that retinyl palmitate, which is in many sunscreens, was found to actually cause skin lesions and increase the risk of skin cancer in studies on rats. Now in what world does it make sense to put that in a sunscreen?!? In addition, most sunscreens on the market contain oxybenzone, which is a potential hormone disruptor, and could have even more pronounced effects on children. Trust me people, you don't want to mess with your endocrine system. It keeps your body healthy. Badger sunscreens provide broad spectrum sun protection without those harmful chemicals. The only problem with Badger sunscreen is that it is so thick that it takes a while to rub it on and rub in the white residue. My method is to rub it all over my hands and then pat it on. It is great for the water though, because once you put it on, it does not seem to come off all day long. (Btw Badger also makes a great daily antioxidant face moisturizer with SPF, which I hope that iherb.com will sell someday.)

Seems to do it's job

Posted by Reviewer1673715 on Jun 22, 2012 | Verified Purchase

My daughters spent several days at camp using this product. We only applied once at the beginning of each day, not throughout the day. They did not swim, so the product was not washed off. Neither experienced sunburn or any significant darkening of their skin. The product does apply white and takes quite a bit of rubbing to make that diminish... however, be careful not to rub most of it away!:-)

QUite thick but seems effective

Posted by bbchris on May 06, 2012 | Verified Purchase

I like the fact there is no smell from this one. My kids seem to like it and although it's a bit thick, it blends into their skin. I also use it on myself.
