Arrowhead Mills brand was born in the Texas Panhandle back in 1960. We've grown, but we haven't changed how we do things. We're still using our same trusted milling process and building long-term relationships with our organic growers, working with the, face-to-face, day-to-day. Hard work honestly, kindness, and business with handshake-that's our process. That's the Arrowhead way. It's how we bring the awesome goodness of the land to your table, and we're real proud of it.

Buckwheat Groats are a toasted grain also known as kasha. It cooks quickly and has an intense flavor that tastes great when cooked with rice. Eastern Europeans love it with pasta bows, an Old World favorite. Try it in pancakes and dumplings too!

Nutritious grain ruined by overprocessing

Posted by iHerb Customer on March 22 2018 | Verified Purchase

Tosted buckwheat, as eaten in East and North Europe is just lightly toasted, without huge effect on a chewy texture. It takes a bit of time to soak it, but after that cooking is really short and flavour is so nutty and heavenly! This product however is hardly comparable and should instead go to to fast food / instant meal depatment. It is processed to such an extent, that hardly any vitamins and minerals left. It smells as if something has burned and cannot deliver that pleasant “al dente”. Failure

This product is not what they say it is

Posted by iHerb Customer on March 5 2018 | Verified Purchase

I regret i`ve bought this product. It turned to be completely different of what i had expected. How can they claim this product to be buckwheat groats if allmost all of them are smashed. It is more like buckwheat flour.

Not Bad

Posted by iHerb Customer on January 29 2018 | Verified Purchase

I grew up eating buckwheat kasha for breakfast. I orders this one since I was missing buckwheat in my life. I have to say that I was little disappointed when I initially received and looked inside the package. It is not as brown and roasted as Russian "grechka" but turned out to be good. I put one cup of buckwheat into the sauce add 1,5 cups of boiling water, pinch of salt and 0,5 quinoa. Let it start to "bubble" and turn off the heat immediately. Cover with lid and let it simmer on that warm stove for 10 min. I add "kefir" and voila-delicious and healthy breakfast is ready.

It's Buckwheat. It's delicious and good for you! Authentic Polish cuisine! Greet for breakfast too! Tastes like Grape Nutz but doesn't break your teeth!

Energize yourself!

My great grandfather (who's Japanese) ate soba noodles everyday, lived to be over a 100. He swore it was the soba noodles he ate everyday. I can see what he means I can feel a huge difference after eating buckwheat I'm more energized and feel that my brain fog disappears when I ate buckwheat. I use these too cook in rice, oatmeal or granola. Sometimes on salad. They taste great.
