Corn Grits are simply coarsely ground bits of corn. They have long been a traditional staple of both northern Italy and the American South, that are usually cooked and eaten as hot porridge or cooked, then slightly cooled until firm and sliced into squares. For breakfast, try Corn Grits served with milk and honey.

For lunch or dinner, they're excellent, topped with butter, cheese, marinara or gravy. We use only the finest golden corn for rich and flavorful grits that are sure to delight your palate - any meal of the day.

Suggested Use

Cooking Instruction For Cereal

Bring 3 cups water and 1/2 teaspoon salt to a boil. Add 1 cup Corn Grits and reduce heat. Cook slowly for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat, cover and let stand for a couple of minutes before serving. This will make enough for four generous helpings.

If you're in the mood for traditional simple Italian Food, polenta is a good choice. One of the many Italian dishes dating back to antiquity, a version of polenta nourished soldiers of the Roman Army.

Other Ingredients

Organic corn.

Manufactured in a facility that also uses tree nuts, soy, wheat and milk.

Love to cook using Bob's Red Mill products as they are whole grain. I have made Polenta several times and it always turns out delicious!

Back home grub!

I'm originally from Georgia. As they say, "you can take the boy out of the country but you can't get the country out of the boy" or something like that. Grits is my back home grub that warms my soul. Now in Japan, my Japanese wife also loves the way I cook it. Apart from iHerbs, there is no way we could have grits as often as we do. My "secret" recipe is to start with Bob's Red Mill's Organic Corn Grits (most important because otherwise it's GMO), add a slice of real butter, one egg per person, a dash of salt, one thin-sliced love-fat sausage, and top it off with a good half-cup of grated cheese, we prefer Gouda, which our local market has just begun to sell. Mix up all the ingredients continuously as it quickly cooks to a smooth, creamy, delicious breakfast or whatever meal. With any leftover, form it tube-like for slicing another time like polenta slices. Of course, refrigerate it to make it sliceable for next time's use. P,S, My wife initially did not like grits until I created this recipe and now she wants it at least once a week!!! We keep a stock of three bags on hand, just in case iHerbs runs out of the product now and then.

Good price, I used to buy it from Amazon, but Iherb lowered their prices.
