These colorful, quick-cooking lentils have a mild, subtly sweet flavor. Because they break down while cooking, red lentils are perfect for dishes like soups, stews, curries and dips. Red lentils are rich in fiber and provide a wealth of vitamins and minerals, including iron and zinc.

Suggested Use

Stovetop Instructions: Sort and rinse 1 cup red lentils. Place in a pot with 3 cups water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and cook until tender, about 15 minutes. Add more water as needed to keep lentils covered with water while cooking. Makes 4 servings (about 3 1/2 cups).

I like lentils, and these cook up quickly and you can make a great soup with coconut milk and spices and tomatoes. They are good lentils that are whole and plump, and they taste good. They cook consistently without hard ones. That probably means they are are very fresh.
