Suggested Use

I take 2 capsules in the morning, and 2 in the evening. I tried taking it for 4 months, but I experiened no effect whatsoever. Nothing, nada.

I have serious sleep issues, only relieved through the use of conventional sleep meds. The problem with them is that the longer you take them, the more you need to keep upping the dose as they become less effective and the more you become completely dependent on them. Therefore I began to look for something that would resolve this issue but wouldn't cause dependence. Among others, I discovered L-tryptophan, an ingredient in one of the other supplements I was trying and decided to try it on its own, hoping it would be more effective than what I was taking. i've been taking it now for several weeks and my experience has been, that it helps me to sleep longer hours; instead of getting up at 3:30, 4 am, i get up at 5:30, 6, and although I haven't been able to get off my sleep meds completely, I have been able to reduce the dose. The trick is finding the right dose and how to administer it; at this point, I'm taking 6; 2 each time, several times over the course of the evening. In summary, I feel that although they have allowed me to sleep longer hours, I have not yet been able to eliminate the need for conventional sleep meds which is my goal.

I take this for OCD and anxiety, it works very well and doesn't make me as sleepy as 5-HTP. Because it has to be converted to 5-HTP by the body, the onset is about 2 to 3 hours from taking it, preferably on an empty stomach. When it kicks in, you notice a mild relaxing effect that peaks for about 1-2 hours and then fades away within 8 hours aprox.. I recommend taking it with L-Theanine for a more accentuated relaxing effect. Don't take too much, just 1 pill in the evening/night or 1 pill in the morning and 1 in the night.
