Product Overview

Description

  • All Natural
  • Roasted Serrano + Cilantro
  • From the Kitchen of Chef Rick Bayless
  • Handcrafted with Fresh Ingredients
  • Authentic Mexico City
  • Salsa That Cooks

The tang of sweet roasted tomatillos, aromatic cilantro, slow-cooked garlic and lively serrano chilies makes a salsa beloved throughout Central Mexico. From the majestic Aztec Empire (when tomatillos were on noble tables) until today, tomatillo salsas have been Mexico's foundation of "zing" for everything from totopos (aka tortilla chips) and tostadas to tacos. You can taste our dedication to small-batch salsa made from fresh ingredients.

Distinctive, dynamic and genuine. Naturally.

Suggested Use

Tangy Green Guacamole

  • 3 large ripe avocados (preferably the pebble-skin Hass variety)
  • 1 cup Frontera Tomatillo Salsa
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

Cut avocados in half, twist apart, then remove the pits. Scoop out the pulp into a bowl. Coarsely mash with a potato masher or large fork. Gently stir the salsa into the avocado mixture, along with the cilantro. Taste and season with salt. Serve with Frontera Tortilla Chips, or sliced cucumber, radish and jicama. Serves 4.

Other Ingredients

Tomatillos, tomatoes, filtered water, onions, serrano chiles, cilantro, garlic, salt, evaporated cane juice, spices.

All natural. No preservatives.

Warnings

Shake well. Refrigerate after opening.

Not great

Posted by iHerb Customer on Jun 17, 2017 | Verified Purchase

A bit too liquid-y, and too spicy for me. My boyfriend likes the taste though.

Thanks for your feedback!

taste like jalapenos texan salsa

Posted by iHerb Customer on Apr 24, 2017 | Verified Purchase

nothing mexican here, texan salsa, no spicy, taste like jalapenos more than tomatillos, a substitute of green salsa if you have no more choices.

Thanks for your feedback!

Too many additives

Posted by iHerb Customer on Feb 27, 2017 | Verified Purchase

I failed to review the ingredients of this product carefully and unfortunately, it doesn't meet my criteria as a good food option. I do love tomatillo salsa however and wish there was an options with no sugars added and less preservatives.

Thanks for your feedback!

Lovely but always arrives broken...

Posted by iHerb Customer on Feb 25, 2017 | Verified Purchase

I love this salsa and the other frontera salsas as well, but I stopped ordering them because they usually arrive broken T.T

Thanks for your feedback!

Too spicey

Posted by iHerb Customer on Feb 13, 2017 | Verified Purchase

It's too spicy for me and the green color makes it look like puke. Still good, just too spicey
