Great taste!

Some people use chicory as a coffee replacement. I've been mixing this with my coffee in the morning. I like what it does to the flavor. It provides a nice toastiness. I also tried brewing it plain once and enjoyed it. The flavor was reminiscent of cocoa to me. If you're new to chicory and want to know how much to mix with coffee (I googled it): When making coffee without chicory I use 1 tbsp of ground coffee per cup. When adding chicory, I replace 1 or 2 tablespoons of coffee with chicory so I have the same amount of solids in the filter for brewing. (Based on 6-8 cups.) Play around with proportions until you find what you like. I've only used chicory in my regular electric coffee brewer, so I can't speak to other brewing methods. Note: If you're sensitive to inulin (e.g. beans, Jerusalem artichokes), this might make you gassy. Even though it's brewed, it still seems to have that effect.

we have bought other chickory root and really enjoyed it as our coffee but this one is maybe too roasted?? it is bitter. I bought 3 bags thinking that all chickory root grind would taste the same. I will use it anyway because its good for your gut health but won't enjoy it as we did the other product. Sorry to have to report that/.

Thanks for your feedback!

i thought id try chicory coffee as a coffee alternative . i never got the hang of making this proper so i didn't like it much , i ended up having to throw it out cuz it sat in my cupboard for a year and got hard . there was too much . but if you are looking for value you do get a ton of chicory .

Rich full taste. I mix with coffee and have cut my caffeine in half :-) ...while improving flavor.
