Expiration Date:Expiration Date
The length of time for the expiration date or "best used before" date depends on the type of product, as well as the brand.
Perishable items (such as flax oils or certain probiotics) generally have shorter expiration dates. Although our warehouse is fully air-conditioned, these more fragile items are put in cold storage (freezer or refrigeration unit) for maximum freshness.
Our receiving department does its best to verify and then enter the correct expiration dates for all incoming products. However, discrepancies do occur from time to time. This being said, the exceptionally high turnover at iHerb ensures that our inventory is among the freshest in the industry.

A hardy perennial best known for its association with coffee, it produces a more 'roasted' flavor, with no caffeine. Some coffees offer blends with up to 30% chicory, which cuts down on the caffeine content.
To use as a tea, pour 1 cup boiling water over 1 tsp of herb, cover and steep 3-5 minutes.
Wonderful coffee substitute
Wonderful coffee substitute
I decided to eliminate all caffeine from my diet. Eliminating coffee was the hardest thing to do. I had terrible withdrawal symptoms for several days and craved something to replace my morning coffee. I am gluten intolerant and vegan, so that made it that much more difficult to find a good replacement. I decided to try organic roasted chicory root because I knew that it is often mixed with coffee in different blends and is caffeine free. I was really happy with the results. I put it in a pot with some cinnamon, pour in some boiling water, and let it brew for 5 minutes. Then, I use a strainer to pour out the liquid into my cup. I add some soy milk to it and I find it delicious. I don't miss coffee at all anymore. I sometimes add other ingredients to it, like carob powder, but find the chicory itself is enough for me. I put the contents of the big bag into a large glass bowl that I had. It has an air-tight cover and makes it very easy to use that way. I usually use a heaping teaspoon of the chicory to make a nice, strong brew. I love this stuff and will never be without it from now on. I look forward to having it every morning now.
I like it

The roasted chicory is delicious, a teaspoon of it in hot water makes a great non-caffeinated drink for the morning at work. (I have one of those Teavana strainers to separate the roasted bits after it steeps) I never drank coffee a lot, but I would occasionally because of the smell, and everyone else who drinks it, but I don't need the caffeine, and this is a perfect alternative.
Great flavor quality always excellent

Guess I just got one bad batch, last 2 have been excellent!!! We love this chicory! Reordering now! Really good with equal part dandelion root tea and 1/2 part burdock root tea. I make them all separately and mix as I wish. Old reviews: (Previous: Really good!) Last Month: Bleah!! Worst chicory ever, tasted like turpentine and smelled like turpentine after a few days; I even roasted it again to try and give it a roasted flavor and smell, helped some - but still tastes like chemicals. NEVER had this happen before; just have to throw it out. I will give them one more chance on a new package....weird: my iherb order shows that I only bought this in 2013????? JUST BOUGHT IT WITHIN 2 WEEKS!!
