Futurebiotics Longest Living Acidophilus+ contains a unique blend of lactobacilli strains, including potent Lactospore. Lactospore is a naturally microencapsulated sporiferous preparation of Lactobacillus sporogenes that is proven to deliver viable lactobacilli to the intestine. It is room-temperature stable and highly resistant to the action of heat, gastric acids and bile. Three additional, effective lactobacilli strains are included, which together with Lactospore, provides over 1.5 billion organisms per capsule and supports healthy intestinal flora balance.

Has only 1.5Bill instead of the standard 8 Bill, so why do some like this?

Posted by Reviewer2631717 on Jun 22, 2015 | Verified Purchase

I read other reviews saying that this ridiculously tiny dose of 1.5Bill actually can help digestion and fungus - supposedly because of its ingenious coating. One documentary on TV devoted to probiotics said you need a minimum of 8 Billion per day. One lab tested 12 probiotics and all failed miserably at reaching their stated amount of live culture, so if FutureBiotic's miserly 1.5 Billion are all alive and healthy, they should be equally as good as the expensive stuff! We've tried many different cultures, but none can conquer our family's stubborn diarhea. Only thing that helped was Colostrum: miracle or coincidence? So the jury is still out on this one. Stay tuned. Update: Our local hospital analysed a selection of probiotics selected from local stores. Amazingly 2 of them had absolutely no living probiotics in them and ALL of the rest of them had extremely small %'s of probiotics: instead of 16Billion, only 70 million! None of the companies had anywhere ne4ar the advertised potency.
