How do the oats in Cheerios cereal work

Step #1- Cheerios is made with oats that contain soluble fiber, known as Beta Glucan.

Step #2- Once Cheerios is digested it is thought that Beta Glucan mixes with water to form a gel.

Step#3- That gel can help naturally remove some cholesterol from the body.

This only one of several ways that foods containing soluble fiber are thought to help in lowering cholesterol.

Cheerios helps lower cholesterol as part of a heart healthy diet.*

*Studies show that three grams of soluble fiber daily from whole grain oat foods, like Cheerios cereal, in a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease. Cheerios cereal provides 1 gram per serving.

Kids love them!

I can't speak for these personally as I don't eat them, but my kids all love them. When I was a child, I remember my mother telling me that she used to put some Cheerios on her twin sons high-chair trays to keep them busy while she cooked and cared for her other kids. Picking up and eating those little Cheerios on their own was great for their eye-hand coordination. I did the same with my little ones when I lived in a place where Cheerios were available.

A little salty

A little salty for breakfasts, but with a lot of milk, I guess it's okay.
