Expiration Date:Expiration Date
The length of time for the expiration date or "best used before" date depends on the type of product, as well as the brand.
Perishable items (such as flax oils or certain probiotics) generally have shorter expiration dates. Although our warehouse is fully air-conditioned, these more fragile items are put in cold storage (freezer or refrigeration unit) for maximum freshness.
Our receiving department does its best to verify and then enter the correct expiration dates for all incoming products. However, discrepancies do occur from time to time. This being said, the exceptionally high turnover at iHerb ensures that our inventory is among the freshest in the industry.

Review of Organic Just Bananas, Freeze-Dried)- This review is from the standpoint of an 81-year-old man with over-the-top allergies and a bottomed-out immune system, and might be of value to others who have to be careful about eating food containing toxins such as heavy metals, insecticides, herbicides, mold toxins, estrogens or dioxin (agent orange). Quick summary: I find the freeze-dried Organic Just Bananas to be delicious and healthy (the potassium is good for the heart) as an energy-boosting snack, or even as a very light supper if I'm very tired after a difficult day. (Note: All of the fresh organic bananas I have had from Peru, Ecuador and Costa Rica have made me ill.) I've tried other brands, such as North Bay Trading Company and Natural News Store, and by comparing the nutrition facts on the packages was pretty sure their products were identical. The question is: where do they come from? I've found I must protect my health with a slogan: "NO SOURCE, NO SALE". But North Bay does not reveal the source of its products. However, Mike Adams, the Health Ranger at Natural News, does (God bless 'im). His freeze-dried bananas are from China. And he, with all of his documented research on metal contamination in China, is well aware of the risks. But I was satisfied with the product and later ordered a bulk 3 lb bag ($46) from North Bay; unfortunately the bag had a slight stench to it. Eventually I got tired of that stench, dumped the bag, went online and found Organic Just bananas. And there is a big difference between Chinese f-d bananas and Just Bananas: the Chinese product has large, medium, small and broken pieces all mixed together with powder . But Just Bananas (by Just Tomatoes) has uniform large pieces with almost no powder. Clearly the Chinese product was abused. Now here is where it gets complicated. I've also tried their Organic Strawberries 'n Bananas, and they are excellent, and a good source of year-round organic strawberries (which don't have the juicy kick of fresh strawberries, of course, but they're still decent). Organic Just bananas: "Product of Ecuador, Costa Rica and Thailand. Packaged in the USA." Organic Just Strawberries 'n Bananas: "Product of the USA and Thailand/Packaged in the USA". (Obviously the strawberries are from the USA.) I contacted customer service at JustTomatoes.com to check out the conflicting sources, and here is their reply: Good morning, Thank you for contacting Just Tomatoes, Etc! We do try to source from the US first but given the demand, we do have to go further. We did source the bananas from Costa Rica at one time (also when the bags were printed) and at this time they are now from Thailand. We hope this has answered your questions, please feel free to contact us again should you have more! Thank you, Customer Service My conclusion is that at the present time (May 19, 2015) the organic bananas in both of their freeze-dried products are from Thailand. Since I have had very bad organic food experiences with Ecuador (including their bananas), but no problems with organic food from Costa Rica or Thailand, this is a no-brainer for me: the organic freeze-dried bananas in both of their products are excellent and the very best I have been able to find. Addendum: Allergen Information- 1- My experience is that the organic freeze-dried bananas have a low level of aluminum, which I neutralize with Pectasol or MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane, an organic form of sulfur). 2- All USA strawberries (as well as most USA crops) contain a large amount of arsenic (after a century of weed killing), which I neutralize with SOD (Superoxide Dismutase), PectImmune (Source Naturals), or Clean Chlorella (Natural News Store).

I would give negative stars for this product if I could. I purchased three kinds of “Just Tomatoes Etc!” fruit and I am unhappy with all of them. I bought Just Banana, Just Mango and Just Apple (which is not JUST apple it also has citric acid and ascorbic acid in the ingredients. These are all disgusting, they are nothing like normal dried fruits, they are very light and the crunch is like you are eating a Crunchie bar, there is no chewiness at all, there is NO flavour in them. What a waste of money. This is by far my most disappointing purchase from iherb.
