Suggested Use

Basic Prep

Our wild kelp comes to you without processing or washing out any of its mineral richness. Please check for occasional tiny hidden pebbles or shells in the fronds. Some plants may be partially covered with a white powder of natural salts and sugars that precipitate from their cells during storage. Don't worry, this is normal, as are occasional spots on the fringes of more mature fronds. Keep unused kelp in this ziplock out of sunlight.

Here are a few tips: Kelp expands about 40% in liquid and will absorb up to five times its weight. Uncooked kelp is chewy until soaked or marinated. To fully tenderize, simmer 15-20 min., pressure cook 5 min., roast 3-4 min. at 300°, or pan fry 4-5 min. until crisp.

Great source of Iodine

I have used this product for many years as a source of iodine and when I use the Kelp, I always make sure I soak overnight to get the salt off and then soak in apple cider vinegar, garlic and chilli and it is yummo!!!

The highest quality Kelp I have found

I am pleasantly surprised as to how good this kelp is. It comes out in large sheets without thick stalks in it. In that regard it is about three times better than the other brand that I had been buying before I found this. I take a sheet out and put it in with liquid in a pan with the lid on. I'll cook it with other vegetables or put it in before steaming fish. The texture and flavor is interesting. It used to be that the only place I could have kelp was at the Korean restaurants. Now I eat it several times a week with my fish and I love it. Highly recommended and good for us as well.

Just made soup with it and it's not salty enough for me and so I have to add 1/2 tsp of pink salt to 500ml of soup. I used one piece of it. Nice to eat after it is simmer in the soup. Does make the soup taste better.

you will like this give it a try I make a quick lunch each day with this I usually star out with garlic and onions sautéed add a little water add veggies and sea vegatables then spices I like cumin garlic powder and mrs dashes spice and some kind of beans or purple hulled peas man this is good
