Expiration Date:Expiration Date
The length of time for the expiration date or "best used before" date depends on the type of product, as well as the brand.
Perishable items (such as flax oils or certain probiotics) generally have shorter expiration dates. Although our warehouse is fully air-conditioned, these more fragile items are put in cold storage (freezer or refrigeration unit) for maximum freshness.
Our receiving department does its best to verify and then enter the correct expiration dates for all incoming products. However, discrepancies do occur from time to time. This being said, the exceptionally high turnover at iHerb ensures that our inventory is among the freshest in the industry.

NOW Betaine HCL is formulated to support proper digestive conditions in the stomach. Hydrochloric Aci (HCL) is normally produced in the stomach, where is assists protein digestion by activating pepsin, helps to maintain a healthy balance of gut flora, and stimulates the release of intestinal enzymes. Pepsin is protrease produced in the stomach that partially breaks down protein in foods. HCL production tends to decline with age, so supplementing with HCL and pepsin may help to maintain normal digestive function. This product uses a vegetarian acid-stable protease with activity equivalent to that of animal-derived pepsin.

This product provided the most rapid and complete relief I've ever gotten from a natural supplement. After years of digestive problems and trying numerous enzymes and probiotics, this cured all my problems almost overnight. I never would have guessed I was low on HCl, given that I sometimes had heartburn along with other problems. One tip, take at the end of the meal, not before. That seems to work the best.
Awesome for poor digestion!

Great for anyone who doesn't digest properly. Starting with Betain HCl and Pepsin might be long as you need to know what is your ideal dosis, but once you know it it's very comfortable. Then with time you start to take less and less.
Should I keep increasing the dose?

I've been taking the Betaine HCL for about a week now. Currently, I'm on 7 capsules per meal, and nothing happen at all (no burning sensation). Should I keep increasing the dose?

After a 1 week treatment with PPI omeprazole and a 2 week treatment with PPI pantoprazole this in combination with Betaine HCL (by NOW supplements, also) at varying dosages this fixed my lack of stomach acid (careful, play with hydrochloric acid (stomach acid), and you may get burned..) - usually the RDA of these and one capsule of 648mg Betaine HCL every other day (skipped one day after each dose). Lactobacilla (aka probiotics) also help- I may be mistaken, but it seems any brand that when added to milk, turns milk to a kefir-milk like substance within 36 hours at room temperature are of sufficient quality.
