Suggested Use

Agar can be used as a vegetable substitute for gelatin. Dilute 2 Tbsp of Agar Powder in 1 pint of water or fruit juice. Cook for 5 minutes and then add fruit or vegetables. Pour into mold and refrigerate until hard.

I finally got the recipe just right for making coconut yogurt that actually thickens using this agar powder. Coconut milk, agar powder, non dairy yogurt starter and tbsp of maple syrup is all you need (and a yogurt thermos/maker). Yummy!

1 tbsp per 1 pint of fruit juice seems a bit much if you want to make a vegan jelly, though it depends on what kind of fruit juice you're using. I used at least 1 1/2 tsp for (on separate occasions) melon soy milk and milk tea; the jelly does get firmer than expected. Look up online for reference on how much agar-agar to put to the jelly you're making.
