Expiration Date:Expiration Date
The length of time for the expiration date or "best used before" date depends on the type of product, as well as the brand.
Perishable items (such as flax oils or certain probiotics) generally have shorter expiration dates. Although our warehouse is fully air-conditioned, these more fragile items are put in cold storage (freezer or refrigeration unit) for maximum freshness.
Our receiving department does its best to verify and then enter the correct expiration dates for all incoming products. However, discrepancies do occur from time to time. This being said, the exceptionally high turnover at iHerb ensures that our inventory is among the freshest in the industry.

Agar is a naturally gelatinous powder derived from marine red algae. It's perfect vegetarian substitute for beef gelatin in any food application, and makes an excellent thickener for soups, jellies, ice cream and more.
Because you are what you eat, NOW Real Food has been committed to providing delicious, healthy, natural and organic foods since 1968. We're independent, family owned, and proud of it. Keep it natural. Keep it real.
Agar can be used as a vegetable substitute for gelatin. Dilute 2 Tbsp of Agar Powder in 1 pint of water or fruit juice. Cook for 5 minutes and then add fruit or vegetables. Pour into mold and refrigerate until hard.

Great Gelatin Replacement
Great Gelatin Replacement
Agar is a really great gelatin replacement. It works as a thickening agent for cold foods, but will melt again when exposed to heat. This makes it perfect for vegan cheeses, gel desserts similar to Jello, pudding, and gummy candies. It contains both calcium and iron, which helps if you are a vegan trying to incorporate these essential vitamins into your diet. Agar has become a staple in my pantry.
Excellent gelatin replacement

I enjoy making fresh fruit and herb kanten, and this product has been an easy to use, high quality replacement for gelatin. I also have an egg sensitivity and understand it can be used to replace eggs in baked goods, but I haven't tried it in that manner yet.

Works well. You really have to boil the liquid after adding agar power. It won't set if you just pour it to hot water. It works and like it but a bit pricy for me since I use it to make treat for my dog.
Product works, but the bottle is half empty.

I know there is some settling but it really irritates me how empty they fill these plastic jars so there is twice as much plastic in landfill it is really horrible! I love agar though, and this product works. It isn't the FINEST grind but it still works.

I use it when I make vegan cheeses. It does its job and it's highly concentrated. I would definitely buy it again.
