Roasted Baru Seeds
Baru seeds are a legume that is found in the Cerrado, the vast tropical Savannah of Brazil and Bolivia. The seeds are wildly harvested from the Baruzeiro Tree by local family run co-ops in the ecoregion of Brazil. Natural Traditions Baru Seeds have a delicious nutty flavor, and a uniquely impressive nutritional profile. With a dense mix of nutrients including antioxidants, fiber, vitamin E and iron, these ancient seeds have nourished the indigenous peoples of the Cerrado for centuries. Baru is also an exceptionally high source of plant protein, with 24% of its weight being comprised of highly digestible quality protein. Natural Traditions Baru Seeds are slow roasted without the use of oils or preservatives to promote digestion and enhance their spectacular nutty flavour profile. Baru seeds are 100% peanut-free, yet their taste resembles a peanut flavor profile.
